Hostboard Site Update - 9/15/13

Well we have been hard at work behind the scenes these last few weeks and thought it was time to share some of our work with you.

First and foremost is our continual effort to eliminate those that come here to do nothing more then SPAM the site. Now there is a 2 step authentication system. First is an email verification. You must first enter a valid email address, whereby the system emails you an authentication code that you must enter when you comae back to fill in the registration information. Next is a random count down timer on the submit button that if clicked before it ends denies the registration.

Next is a much more robust SPAM decimator. Just a few quick simple clicks and all traces of the user are removed. While this is a site admin only feature at the moment we are working on making this available to each forum so they can effectively remove SPAM from their forums.

The blue is gone!!! Finally forum home is back to normal. The fix for this was eluding us forever but we finally got the site to display properly.

Now on a new forum creation there is an initial first post, that welcomes the new forum but also provides some helpful links.

Ever read a thread and thought to make a new post based on what you read on a new thought? Now there is a post new thread option that is available from within threads.

Ever read a comment or decide you no longer want to see or hear from a particular member? Now instead of going all the way back to your control panel you can easily do this via the member drop down menu.

Knowledge Base options have now been added for the Hostboard Moderator Control Panel. We will be filling these in to help assist with the tools use. The long term goal is short videos.
