Over the years I've occasionally met people who like to portend that they have a great sense of humor.

Can one really claim to have a great sense of humor?
"Hey there, I have a great sense of humor, go ahead, try me, just try me!"
In fact, the real sense of humor comes into play when one gets an outcome they WERE NOT ANTICIPATING or expecting.
I have found that sometimes when people say they have a sense of humor it turns out that they control their sense of humor to the point where they have none.
I believe you can't really control your sense of humor, you either have one, or you don't, and whether you have one or not will reveal itself at the most inopportune time.
