Should Michael Jackson be Left Alone?

I say yes. Why persecute the guy? Whoever shows up to stay with Michael does so at the parents consent.

Years ago it appears that a family declined to press charges AFTER Jackson gave the family several million dollars. It appears that the family used the police system as leverage to get several million dollars from Michael, and then dropped the charges!

The philosophical question is, can Michael Jackson be solely tried and convicted without trying the actual guardians who drove the kids to Michael's place in the first place?

Either you prosecute the Parents and Michael, or you let everyone go. Singling out Michael is wrong.

It truly is dies nefastus (unlucky days) for
poor ol'Jackson, isn't it? His biggest problem,
I think, is that this ostensible freigeist
(free spirit) persona he's been self-perpetuating
for decades, is now so inveterate that it's
becoming impossible to emancipate him out of
it. He's become some kind of incongruous
solopsist. He lives in an ammoral dream-world,
and for that reason alone, I think he should
finally be made to face the reality, of what
is, for all intents and purposes, collectively
condoned paedophilia.

People posit that, should someone genuinely
subversive like Oscar Wilde were around today,
his actions (with underage boys) would have
had him locked him away long before Dorien
Gray raised its head.

Jacko won't go to jail, of course, because
rock/pop stars invariably don't nowadays, but
even Jacko's (erstwhile?) makeshift PR guy,
Yuri Gellar, recently said in a TV interview,
that Jackson's bed would be the last place he
would like to find *his* children sleeping in.

Jackson is clearly troubled. I think that the
least any judge can do, is to powder him with
some sort of compulsory counselling. And knowing
America, it'll probably be televised, so there-
fore, we can all eventually get to the root of
shadows which lurk between every line of the
tabloid headlines.

You mentioned that Dorian Gray would have never been written because Mr. Wylde would have already been in jail before the tome would have been written were he alive today.

How sad that some of the greatest works of all time in fact have come out of what may be deemed dysfunctional states of being. Sad in the sense that they would not have existed in any other circumstance.

For every one drug enduced artistic achievement, how many people got drugged up and "thought" they had a an artistic worthy adventure?

Care to guess? (there is no right or wrong answer, just an opinon.)

I have no idea, mate. Maybe the figure is
proportionately dependent on the inate talents
of the individuals in question. A lot
of albums made in the 60s - Sgt. Peppers, some
Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, et al. - are claimed
to be works which are unassailably impossible
to produce - or reproduce for the matter - sans
the influence of hallucinogenics. This maybe
the case, but that doesn't necessarily make
them worthwhile products - there are no facts,
only interpretations, as Nietzsche once said; and
this disposition, I think, can be held with
regards to evaluating all forms of art.

I'm sure the latter scenerio is more plausable
than the former. In the same documentary I
mentioned in which Yuri was lamenting the his
and Jacko's now-severed relationship (because
it Yuri's idea to fix Jacko up with, what turned
out to be a quite damaging interview with Bashier)
Jacko's father was tracked down in Vegas: Joe
is found living a fairly turgid life, making
dodgy straight-to-video fodder. Therefore it
wouldn't surprise me quite a few of Jacko's
family are considerably bitter, and hence,
capable of 'setting him up'.

Well, Mr Wylde was shagging 15-year-old boys,
which, I believe, is illegal in most Western
countries nowadays.

This, of course, could be attributed to works
of art that were created whilst under that
effects of drugs, too?

'Peppers is a great album from a song writing
perspective, so hence it's understandable that
it would win many populist votes, but I have two
problems with it - and they're both inter-related:
It's terrible produced - Martin made a complete
dog's dinner of it; and secondly, because 'Peppers
was produced - ostensibly - on a 4 track mixer,
as a struggling musician during my formative
years, when we (i.e. fellow band members) would
book a demo-studio, the kiss of death (alias
the signifier that its owner was ineffectual at
best), would be when aforsaid owner would pre-empt
proceedings with: 'Well, you know, Sgt. Peppers
was recorded on a 4 track,' as if to justify
his lacklustre set-up. There's nothing credible
about this (because as I've stated, it's a
terribly produced album), alas, the legacy remained
until technology took over and empowered everyone
with the (financial) ability to record from their
bedrooms - and thank Zeus for that.

'There are no facts..' is merely an aphorism,
but a good point though.

The technology, no matter how archaic it is,
isn't the problem, it was more the boring
predicatably of their (engineers) pre-excuses -
in flagrante delicto we would invaribly either
fall asleep or wish we had saved our pennies
for a little while longer. There's nothing wrong
with Super 8, or SLR photography for that matter,
no matter how affordable decent digital cameras
become - if I've been known to squandered entire
days trying to get the right negative sandwiched
composition [img]wink.gif[/img] .
