I'd love to grow a vegetable garden but I live on a rental property and I cant do any changes to the grounds...so I grow a few veggies in planter boxes..last year it was baby carrots and salad greens..mmmmmm..they were delicious during summer.

Mmm, cayenne peppers...

I don't have a vergetable garden. I got depressed when we had to chuck all our veggies in '86, after the Chernobyl incident.

Sigh. All that lettuce. Never hurt anyone. What's alittle radioactive lettuce, compared to months of hard work in yer little garden.

Rog,
I love Gardening...this year I have a bounty of tomatoes and banana peppers...have some huge bell peppers growing but only 3 or 4 right now. I have strawberries and an apple tree. Last year I greww so many cayenne and jalapenos that I left them out this year until I use what I have frozen. I have a cast iron stomach as well!

We eat a lot of bell peppers, but I have the worst luck growing them, I don't know what the problem is? We buy bell peppers and freeze them for cooking, I never thought about doing that with Cayannes.

Lordy we are gonna have so many tomatoes this year, We planted twice what we did last year (12 plants) and Her daughter used miricle grow and they are huge and heavy with green tomatoes.

Aren't strawberrys hard to grow? I heard that you don't get berries until after the plants are a couple years old.
I love strawberries sliced with sugar until it makes a syrup, then add cold milk...Mmmmm

Key to bell peppers LOTS OF DIRECT EARLY MORNING SUNSHINE...mine are planted where they get the sun from early am til about 3 and then they are in the shade...Miracle grow is the bomb!!! We use it on everything...My Strawberries are in their second year year and I have tons...they came back on their own (last year was not bountiful) and the only issue I have with them is keeping the slugs out in which case I use paper cups buried in the ground around the plants and I fill them with beer...hey at tleast the slugs die happy right??? I can eat those little peppercinis (sp) from Pizza Hut, but I can't eat then real hot ones or you could hear me screaming the next day.

I know you don't want slugs in your garden, but poisioning slugs with beer is alcohol abuse
