Question

The Devonshire troupe is 11th going on 12th.
The troupe about to meet the Oracle is 9th going on 10th.
The Newbies just reached 5th.
The three surviving members of the 1st group are also 11th.

The gaps are closing between the three groups. How does this sound to everyone?
We play the newbies until the missing players return, then we work to wrap up the two ongoing adventures so that everyone will eventually return to the CFI. Since there will be so little difference between levels by that point, we could opt to "mix and match" the characters currently in the mix. This would allow those of us with 3 or 4 characters to play in multiple groups as needed, while those with fewer won't need to feel left out either, and they can place their characters into troupes where there are gaps.

Thus Gralla and Lir might join a troupe with Einkil and Celene, while Allie could join with Lyra and Finley, etc.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Even as I was hoping for greater input on this subject (I thought neither my question nor hers really got answered thoroughly enough), I came up with a plot device that could be pretty exciting from the standpoint of a fun encounter, but will have long term repercussions as well. I won't give details, nor say which party will have this encounter or when (or even if), but I was curious about how the group would receive this possibility.

Caer Falken has seen a number of deaths over time, starting with Leandra Winterfrost, the first and the last notable death being an entire party.

With Lyssandra's idea of intermingling the characters, I started thinking about the options that might prevail if all of the characters now gone were suddenly available in the character pool once again.

While some people prefer to let sleeping dogs (or dead ones) lie (or RIP), others might be excited to have some old favorites back.

But for such a thing to happen (IF it did), it could potentially cause game disruptions I have not yet foreseen.

I would appreciate everyone's input on this subject...as well as the ones that started this conversation along. I have been putting thought into the game's future, but genuinely wish to do so with YOUR desires and opinions in mind.

I thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Are you talking about resurrection of the dead ones, and the sudden return of the others who were charmed, or are you proposing a set of adventures set out in the planes where the dead and damned characters interact with other dead?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I don't want to give too much away, but it would mean the characters returning to life on the Prime Material Plane...somehow

No visits to other planes would be involved.

I see... I personally think I'd pass on Leandra's and Caela's restoration, though if others are game, go for it, because it would open the door for some of the players who left to return if they wanted, and allow them to join in the lower level campaign with the 5th level characters.

Even without unusual circumstances, there are methods of returning the dead to life already in place: For one, there is that pipe that's in the hands of our very first Druid and the deathstones scattered about Fangea, which was used once already.

Also the higher level clerics such as Jaskyn will soon have access to the spells that will restore life, and of course Gralla's Staff of Life.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Ah! But almost all of those methods require an actual body, or at least a body part, and Shadell's Pipes require an extremely rare and valuable Deathstone to bring back just a single soul. You would also have to consciously act on a desire to bring individuals back, many of whom various CFI characters have never even met or heard of. And while once upon a time I would have allowed a WISH spell to accomplish this (back in 1st edition), even that in 3.0 or 3.5 wouldn't do the trick en masse.

What I have in mind would be an event and bring people (and maybe not even everyone..perhaps people could opt out) back all at once.

As I said..this may be a terrible idea, and if others agree with Lyssandra, it will be yet another idea that just didn't happen. sometimes you have to toss out a bunch of bad ideas before a good one takes root...and that's why I am bringing it up.

Anyway..thanks for your input Lyss.

Re: Game/Characters Revisited

In the realm of gaming, the concept of revisiting games or characters has become a common practice, offering developers opportunities to breathe new life into beloved franchises. Whether it's through remastered versions, sequels, or spin-offs, revisiting familiar worlds and characters allows players to experience nostalgia while uncovering fresh adventures. From iconic franchises like Mario and Zelda to modern classics like The Witcher and Final Fantasy, the allure of revisiting familiar game worlds and characters remains strong. Even in the world of online casinos, 바카라 총판 may offer new twists on classic card games, providing players with a refreshed gaming experience.
