Cleaning up the Temple

The bodies of the bugbear priest and his minions lay about the entrance of the once sacred temple. Other humanoid bodies also litter the near bye streets. Tindale experiences a sudden sense of calm as the band of heroes stands together upon the steps of the temple as Troop Phoenix arrives.

OOC: I have to make this a hasty post for right now but wanted to attempt to take care of some actions that may save us some time for next Friday. After introductions and such Thaylias will help search and secure the temple. I will send the DM my search, etc , rolls. Hopefully those with a much keener eye will do the same.

Allie is currently back at the garrison by herself. She went there during the riot following the slaying of the four leaders. She's found the army had gotten the gate down, and is presently scouting to make certain there are no lingering monsters inside, and trying to locate those people and animals left behind.

High Priest Bragder and his followers have been defeated and Tindale liberated.

Troop Phoenix, three, ten man squads under the command of Lieutenant Chisholm and three sergeants who command the squads and report to him, have arrived as planned, and the Lt., under the direction of Thaylias, and with the guidance of the party, clear the town of any remnants.

The troop, being a specialized team of trained men, have other skills, including carpentry, masonry and metalurgy, and are set to work repairing the garrison first, and then the rest of the buildings.

The Lt. recommends that, if Tindale is to be truly defensable, that the walls surrounding the town be repaired, rebuilt and raised higher, and that the 4 entrances have gates installed. If Thaylias agrees to this, they will make this the first priority after the repairs to the Garrison.

Allie's search reveals that there are no humanoids or monsters in the garrison, just an abnormal amount of vermin. The Garrison was not harmed by the earlier siege, as the gate was closed but not locked, so tearing it down was not necessary.
Halnippi managed to hide in his former hiding place, which he took the time to clean and reprovision for just such an occasion. The boy knows the twon like any boy would know a small town...better than the back of his unwashed hands. He volunteers to serve as a guide to the Lietenant, freeing the party from the tedium of knowing town details.

Tindale, has no standard to fly, and even Halnippi cannot recall what, or if, the towns emblem was. For tyhe time being, the red Phoenix on the black field, with silver lining, shall fly above the garrison to indicate to all comers that the town is now occupied, and not by any band of evil humanoids.

As far as the scrounging goes, some mosest provisions of flour, grain, dried beans, mortar, stone, lumber and tools can be found, and whatever else is needed can easily be harvested from the nearby mountains and wooded areas. Two wagons were found to be in tact (or at least repairable without difficulty), and the officer's horses have been pressed into the duty of drafting.

It looks like things are under control, and the game will resume either the next day...or if you wish, several days or even weeks later, at your discretion. The repair of the twon will take some time, and the extent of repairs will vary. It is possible that it will look like new inside of a year, but be in good shape in just a few months.

Now that the garrison and town is secured and the repairs can begin, Allie would suggest a short time of rest whereby the party moves into and settles into their new home, and then begin to move on to investigate the mines and outlying areas.

Kel Twoheart puts his magics and survival skills to good use. He can provide light and flame to make the watches easier. Fresh game can be stalked and slain, and brought back; and Kel uses his survival skills to do just that.

He finds he's actually missed Glimmerwing while the raven 'guarded' the boy, as their bond grows, Kel finds he can get more reliable information from the raven's patrols of the area.

Reclaiming Blackmoon (and the other steeds if the group hasn't gotten them) he resets the stables and provides for them.

The half elf also keeps his eyes out for the Centaurs, humans, or elves in the area. The Centaurs must be told of what was going on here, and he still wants to convince them the King means no evil to the horsefolk. Any humans are either brigands, or likely homeless people who do not know they have now a safe haven to return to. And elves? well, unless they be drow, it is likely they could be allies, and the town has need of that badly, and Kel knows his strength lays in his force of personality.

Once Allie returns from scouting the garrison the five companions meet again with Lt. Chisholm and his sergeants. All in attendance agree that the garrison should be the first structure to be repaired. Thaylias is quick to agree with Lt. Chisholm that the town's outer walls be made the next priority but insists that a guard be placed while the men are doing the repairs and additions.
Thaylias then joins Kel in retrieving the mounts from the cave and bringing them to the stables. But the human does take leave from everyone for a period of time to take advantage of the company of his steed, Snowflake. Returning back to Tindale he converses with Allie and agrees that settling into our personal dwellings would be the best thing to do and helping with the towns repairs. Before parting he asks the Halfling if she is planning on making any of her delectable meals and asks if anyone had seen Shanti about.

Oakshade takes it upon himself to clean out the temple and reconsecrate it in the name of Stellari, until such time as a Priest of Tor returns (or until Thaylias decides who should become the new patron deity of Tindale)

While Oakshade is not able to rebuild wood and stone, he can certainly clean, organize, cleanse and bless, and would be more than willing to hold rituals for the devout amongst the party and Troop Phoenix

Shanti will regain her mare as well, and likely run into Thaylias outside the keep, as she decides to scout about the surrounding area, they will do a sweep of the outskirts of the town as well from horseback, making sure that area is secure as well, since it is possible that fleeing enemies might regroup there. She would also suggest that the Manor House be officially claimed by Thaylias as his own, and that they begin talking about a banner other than Phoenix's that should fly above the town, when the time is right.

Kel also gets in some practice with that new Axe he's carrying, trying to determine its abilities.

Allie will be able to sacrifice a pearl to cast the Identify spell on the unknown magical items which the group collected on the way to Tindale such as that rapier the trolls had, Kel's axe and wand, the hobgoblin leader's stuff, etc.
