Who do you all think should play the fuzzy elf in the sequel or 3rd movie? Hey, who should play ANYBODY in the sequels? If you don't know of a specific actor, or if, like me, you think that everyone in the sequels should be realtive unknowns, like in the well-done original, then just describe how you think the part should be played.
I think he should be somewhere in between Rogue and Cyke in age, so relatively young. Definitely played by a relative unknown person that can ACT. Should be portrayed as very optimistic, almost happy-go-lucky, but not reckless. Obviously, our beloved Elf from his early Excalibur days...and the X-Men days before that.

Im pretty picky when it comes to this question, but Garble turned me on to the idea of Stephen Dorf as Nighty-he played the bad guy in the movie"Blade",he also was in a few indy films as well.Hes a pretty good actor.Hes around 26,thats seems about right for Nighty.Garble did a manip of him waaay back on the first page of WWs Nightcrawler thread but it hasent shown up in ages.Too bad you didnt get a chance to see it,Garb did a great job.

They probably wouldn't do this, but I always thought that a neat way to do Nightcrawler in the movie would be to have him say very little but be very physically expressive, kinda like a mime (only without the cute invisible boxes and the like.) He could be almost like a commedia dell'arte character, and they could get someone who was trained in that kind of stylized physical acting to play him. Or maybe one of those super-talented circus performers who are not only incredible athletes but incredible actors as well. He'd be like this demonic-looking silent movie character, like Charlie Chaplin with glowing eyes and a tail. And hey, last time I saw the Cirque du Soleil they had a couple of German guys in the cast, so they could even get the accent dead-on. Anyhow, that's my vision.
Wizard magazine's choice was Alan Cumming. I could see that too. He definitely has the androgyny thing going for him, if that's how they wanted Nightcrawler played.
Glad to see the Mit's in the house. And Happy Birthday, KC. Did the cash come through for the tattoo?

In a cheap fan-boy moment of disolusion I submitted a premise to Marvel Entertainment for X-Men 2. It actully started with the birth of Kurt Wagner. He would be the first mutant born of two mutants thus feulling a whole second round of anti-mutant hate. Mags spent the whole movie in prison like a Hannibal Lecter character. And the main bad guys were Sentinels. Mystique and her new child are hunted by the robots and then turn to the X-Men for help, hence much explotions and cool uses of mutant powers. Blah, blah, blah.
But if I was forced to use a full grown NC I would go for a young guy, about 22 who is maybe a little clumsy at first but is great for comic relief. So I would go for Seth Green of Buffy and Austin Powers fame. I think he has that whole younger brother thing going for him that would really work in the medium of film. The real clincher if I was doing the casting would be pulling off the German accent, it would have to be convincing or the whole character wouldn't work.

I'd like to see them film Nightcrawler's first apearance when he's running from that mob and is saved by professorX. They don't have to have it take a lot of time or use a lot of dialogue... It would just be cool to see.

Yeah Garble, that mob scenes a must!
And I agree,BAMF!Everytime I see Garbs manips Im convinced more and more that SD would be a great Nightcrawler.Ive noticed in those manips how much Dorfs facial features resemembles Kurts.Espeacially the Jim Lee and Yu renditions of Nighty.

I wish I could see the Stephen Dorff pics but I just keep getting the Angelfire thing. *sigh*
I think it should be an unknown myself.
The mime idea is interesting, but personally, mimes creep me out.
*shiver*
How difficult is it to do a German accent? I'm pretty German-impaired but seriously, the guy doing the Evolution voice sounds pretty good to me. I bet he's not German. Hmm, wonder what he looks like and if he can act?
Any decent actor should be able to get it down okay, I would hope. maybe.

I have nothing against the Stephen Dorph idea, but that mime idea sounds really good to me. I think Kurt should be a little weird acting. I also think it would be best to get someone with acrobatic and contortionist skills on top of acting. Surely an acrobat can take some quicky acting lessons. In a two hour movie how much air time can we expect for NC? He probably will just have a couple scenes, so I would rather see him in action and maybe interacting with one of the x-men, but not carry the whole movie.

Wow, Rex Lucas that Comedia Del Arte thing is a really cool idea. Infact if you look at Knight_Crawlers picture on p18 (I think) of the NC thread he really does look like a Harlequin.
