For BLUE the turtle....

After reading BlueElfEars' story in the TMI thread about Blue the turtle who was pronounced unfairly dead, I thought it was only fair to post a topic where us Elfaholics can give Blue some words of encouragment for this poor non-dead amphibian. Who knows, if he pulls through maybe we can adopt him as the monuments official mascot.

Hey, little critter,
I hope you get better,
I'll knit you a sweater...

Uh, nevermind. Ya know, mouth to mouth works great on reptiles if he has a relapse. No, really. I gave mouth to mouth to my roommate's Chinese water dragon once when my roomie thought she'd drown him. Worked like a charm, nasty aftertaste...

Thank you. We'll see how it's going tomorrow. The vet didn't have office hours today so I couldn't call.

Slarti, I would definitly do mouth to mouth but Blue has a bacterial infection in his lungs, so they're filled with fluid. He got an antibiotic shot, fluids, and a heating pad and was looking better as of last evening. Unfortunately reptiles don't respond quickly to antibiotics. Besides, he's too small to do mouth to mouth on. His shell is about 1 and 1/2 inches long.

If he survives I'll put a picture of him up.

Blue the turtle
Fall 2000- Winter 2001

Blue succumbed yesterday afternoon to his bacterial infection. He was a good little turtle and the cutest Red-Eared Slider I've ever seen.

At least he's not hurting anymore. :'(
