US-PA-Philadelphia-HR Service Center Counselor (672HS)

the Human Resources & Services division of its Philadelphia, PA corporate
headquarters. As a result, we are looking for two exceptional human

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide point of contact, clarification, and guidance on
HR/workplace policy and procedure questions in a service center environment
for CIGNA employees, business managers, and Human Resources personnel.
Counsel customers on available options, forms, and sample letters and
coordinate referrals as appropriate. Help drive the HR Service Center
expansion, including project and Employee Relations work.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide exceptional customer service when answering
workplace policy and program inquiries by telephone, e-mail, and other
methods by effectively utilizing I-Expert (a web based desktop tool),
CIGNA's Intranet, and other available resources. Provide consistent, timely,
and accurate answers to HR/workplace policy and procedure questions. Assist
customers in identifying and defining issues; provide appropriate
information, forms, sample letters and various alternatives; guide customer
to resolution and; when applicable, provide follow-up to ensure customer
satisfaction. Refer issues requiring specialized knowledge or consulting to
team lead or specialty areas for resolution and follow through. Support
expanded responsibility of the HR Service Center. For example, provide
support for Corporate Employee Relations by reviewing and consulting with HR
Generalists on job elimination plans, conducting employment dispute
investigations, and assessing the employee relations climate throughout the
organization by participating in Employee Relations Reviews. Partner with
divisional/local HR Generalists to document and answer inquiries on
divisional policies/practices. Participate in various HR policy/program
projects. Identify opportunities and provide support for process
improvements to reduce problem issues and improve service delivery. Share
information in a timely, concise, and clear manner with team members, team
leads, and management, both verbally and in writing. Support a collaborative
and cooperative work environment by maintaining a positive and proactive
attitude and flexibility.
REQUIREMENTS: BS/BA degree. Established knowledge of Human Resources
policies and procedures - minimum 2 years of HR Generalist/Employee
Relations experience preferred. Proven commitment to customer service and
results orientation. Superior communication (oral and written),
interpersonal skills and relationship building. Ability to communicate via
telephone and e-mail. Excellent analytical, problem solving and trouble
shooting skills. Quick learner, critical thinker and team player. Strong
project management skills. Ability to multi-task and use sound judgement.
Proficient in MS office products and the Internet. Ability to remain
flexible, positive, and collaborative in a fast-paced team-oriented start-up
