OK, now don't freak out on me but, the 5 CDs in my player are
1)Cleveland Style Polka --Dick Suhay. Contains my favorite polka, Pennsylvania Polka, but I still think that Frankie Yankovic did it the best. If you wanna know what I mean, rent Groundhog Day, that's Frankie's version in the film. Also "Beer Barrel Polka" which, of all people, I like the Andrews Sisters version the best of all. Still, if ya like Polka, Dick does a fine job.
2)Digital Duke--Duke Ellington Orchestra. Not the original Duke, but the band is lead by Mercer Ellington, and features performances by Branford Marsalis and Eddie Daniels.
3)Celtic Dreams--Various artists. Anybody wanna do an Irish jig? No? OK, well, I can sit and have a Guinness or two and listen just fine, thank you.
4) On the Tracks--Leon Redbone. If you've heard him there's nothing more to say, if not, well, ditto.
5) Louis Armstrong--American Legends. Includes my favorite Louis song, "A Kiss to Build a Dream On" and a very good rendition of "Do You Know What it Means to Miss New Orleans".
Yeah, I seem to be getting eclectic in my old (ahem) age.

The CD I have in my car player today is a cheapie called "Irish Drinking Songs". It has some really good blue grass-like tunes, but this is my favorite:
MOUNTAIN DEW
Let grasses grow and waters flow in a free and easy way,
But give me enough of the fine old stuff that's made near Galway Bay.
And policemen all from Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim too,
We'll give them the slip and we'll take a sip of the real old mountain dew.
Chorus:
Hi-diddley-I-dum-diddley-dum-di-dum, diddley-dum-di-diddley-I-day,
Hi-diddley-I-dum-diddley-dum-di-dum, diddley-dum-di-diddley-I-day.
At the foot of the hill, there's a neat little still, where the smoke curls up to the sky,
By the smoke and the smell, you can painly tell, that there's poteen brew nearby.
For it fills the air with odour rare and betwixt both me and you,
When home you stroll, take a bucket or bowl of the real old mountain dew.
Chorus
Now learned men who use the pen, have wrote your praises high,
That sweet poteen from Ireland green, distilled from wheat and rye.
Throw away your pills, it will cure all ills of pagan, christian or jew,
Take off you coat and grease your throat with the real old mountain dew.
Chorus
************
At work I will sometimes play Pink Floyd CDs all day to drown out the "screamin preacher send your money to the Lord" radio station one of my co-workers listens to (all day, every day).

LOL, Big K. Maybe instead play a little Black Sabbath to even out the score, heehee.
The new Super WallyWorld opened two nights ago, while there I picked up some Enya, The Gap Band, Rick James, and Ella Fitzgerald. I think I saw that Irish Drinking Songs CD there so I will pick that one up too when I return to Mecca. I am, of course, assuming that it will still be there in a few days, which is, I think, a safe bet.
