so, uhm, hi!, I thought I'd start this as a little ice breaker so all the lurkers would get out and just say hi and tell us who they are (we don't bite, were not mean and we won't kill you if you don't post every day... honestly)
I guess most of you know me but I'll just start for the sake if this thread.
I'm anna. Actually that's not my name but I've seen people being put on anti-depressants after desperately trying to figure out how to pronounce my name so I'll spare you that one. I'm currently residing in germany, intending on staying here for another year and then I'm off to Denmark or someplace else. Basically cause I'm a language geek, and, yes, I know that's stupid, but, like dutch is soooooo cute and dorky. ::ahem::
So... I'm 18, german though my heart is with my ex-hostfamily in the US. I run the probably worst-updated John Partridge page there is (www.johnpartridge.de.vu), which is probably cause by the fact that I spend too much time writing FAQs and Disclaimers and updating my news section cause they're so much fun (If you ever need a FAQ I'd be glad to help you out).
I'm known too have slightly 'off' phases in which I will seem a little, er, weird (insane, mad, out of it...) but I'm not mean (just sarcastic, so if I ever say anything that offends you i'm just being my usual evil me)
whut else, I'm a major renthead, don't have too much love left for many other musicals except for maybe Hedwig, Urinetown, Taboo and some other non-ALW stuff (I think i stand alone with my dislike of Lloyd-Webber, so feel free to gush about his musicals, no-one will bite your head off).
I have a weak spot for guys with guitars and modern folkrock (Ani DiFranco etc.), I'm also prepared to gush about various Rent-alumnis and their solo-music.
I love good fanfiction. Although I tend to read mainly M/R smut and recently some Sirius/Remus.
Anyways, I saw John in Rent April 99(?), unfortunately didn't have any cash to go see it again.
I have a tendency to turn posts off topic, mainly because I like people, and I like talking to them, and always having the same topic sometimes gets a bit boring [img]wink.gif[/img] yeah, aaaaannnd... I like mexican and indian food, and little children. Of the non-food stuff I gratly enjoy politics, music, literature, languages and cultures, and that makes me the boring person I am.
I'm also president of "John Partridge for pointy ears", which is a campaign consisting of, uh, me. Because pointy ears are good and sexy.
besides that I would like Ernest Hemingway if he wasn't such a horrible writer.

Well here goes then....I'm Ruth, but get called variations of that name. Am 19.
I'm a poor student studying theatre practice at the Central School of Speech and Drama and am supporting myself..well kind of...by being a regular Kat Slater (though probably more like Tracy) in a local pub. Quite a suitable job for me really, as some will tell you...
Been a fan of John's for many years, but only properly met him in 2001 when he was in Notre Dame. Have met him countless times since then in Cats/Taboo/Cats berlin and a couple of gigs. Usually go to the theatre with my good pal Kate who also posts on here and were known as 'John's gals' for a good while!!
Obviously I love theatre, seeing as I'm studying for a career in it... I mainly like musicals, but not at all opposed to watching/doing straight theatre. Rent, Taboo, Cabaret and Anything Goes are just some of my favourite shows. And probably like Anna, I usually have a weak spot for anyone who plays Roger in 'Rent'.

Well hellooo..I'm Ruthie's matey Kate! Disclaimer: I'm not in love with John Partridge!!! I begrudgingly like the guy now after him being totally lovely to myself and Ruthie on numerous occasions. Damn him!
I'm a musical theatrey type I'm afraid. Fave shows are...The Rocky Horror Show, Rent, Hedwig & the Angry Inch and Taboo.
I'm on a gap year at the moment, temping and doing all sorts of jobs around my local area. I might get a full time job at some point but not yet. In January I'm off to Canada for 4 months to train as a ski instructor and teach for some of the season. I'm then travelling through Canada to New York and seeing as many shows as possible before flying home for a few weeks and then on to New Zealand to teach skiing there for 4 months. After all that skiing I plan on coming home to the UK and going to drama college in London to study performance..or something similar.
As for the John thing..I first saw him live in Cats when it was on in London..Ruthie and I went to see the show tons of times and met him a hell of a lot. We did indeed become known as John's Girls (to my disgust and Ruth's delight!!).
I originally hated John and thought he was an arrogant ass..to be frank. I maintained that view and pretty much ignored him at the Stage Door and stuff until he started approaching me to ask how I was or randomly hug me, presumably cos he recognised me! Over the past few years I've got to like the guy and since I saw him several times in Taboo I have to say he's actually a decent bloke. Ruthie and I even went to Berlin and saw Cats there with him in it and it was fab!
Best thing John Boy did had to be him as Roger in Rent..I've seen the vids and he is perfect for the role. I love the part anyway and his voice is totally perfect for it and absolutely amazing. As a singer myself I think he has one of the best male singing voices I've ever heard. Also love him as Electra on the 1992 London cats of Starlight Express..not a particular favorite show but he is AMAZING in it.

I'm a fan of John's since about three years and I've firstly seen him live in the Londoner production of Cats in 01. Tried to see him again in Berlin a few months ago, but was shocked by an Uli Scherbel instead. [img]eek.gif[/img]
Finally saw and met him last Saturday, now I'm even more insane than before. *g*
I tend to write quite much and often, but I've been a chatter box for all my life, so forgive me! *lol*
