The players have had the (dubious) pleasure of protecting the Countess, and some characters have even met the King *groovy*

So, a few questions about nobles and Nobility in the kingdom.
1. Who if anyone is the noble in charge of the lands Caer Falken Inn rest on?

2. What are some of the more prominent noble families in the Kingdom?

3. Are players allowed to play nobles? (Though obviously, you'd have to rationalize relatively low funds... just robbed, 7th son with little inheritance left over)

4. How does one earn a title in game, if they're so inclined?

The players will have to discover this through role play

Again, as above, you need to seek it out through RP, or, if your characters have Knowledge Politics or Geography or other pertinent skill, a roll would be required. Some things are not common knowledge, and those things are meant for PC's to work out. Most other things I will answer without much mystery.

There are two ways to have a noble character, but character generation is not one of them. The granting of title through merit and deeds is the most common way. But there is always the chance that a character may come to play an important role in larger affairs due to my own designs. Many times in the past, I have had characters become heroes with grand titles, such as Arch Druids, Archmagi and landed nobility. It is not impossible for that to occur here.
