I have already used a few Holy Days at Caer Falken. I was wondering if anyone thought that the religions should be expanded? Perhaps we could let each player come up with a Holy Day dedicated to one or more gods, and detail its origins and significance. We could even make a contest out of it, and all the players could vote on the best idea, and I could give a special prize. Anyone interested?

Will give it some thought. At the very least full moons should be important to many of the characters. IMHO of course!

*BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPP*
These are ideas, these are only ideas. Had they been more than just ideas, they would have included approval and offical 'okey dokeys' from the ****eon Master. Thank you.

(Apologies for the typoes that are laced in them)

Holy Day for Soloris:

The Grand Anniversery of the Ascent- Soloris is the leader of the gods, and there are differing tales of how this came to be; Most involving either his avenging the death of his Mother Gaia, but others say she merely abdicated to her son after he lead the younger gods to victory over the old ones. Regardless of which tale is taken to heart, this holiday is almost universially celebrated by the peoples of Fangea. This holiday marks the day of Soloris' coronation, and many mortal nobles try to arrange events on this same day in hope of gaining the God's favor over their rule (or at least to associate themselves with it to the commonfolk). Technically, the holiday starts at dawn, the first few hours consist of the priests of Soloris spreading across the land to personally extinguish lanterns, torches and the like. This symbolizes the "new light" of Soloris. While they do so, the priests (and Paladins) of the God also lend their healings and aid to any they see in need.

As for the common folk, they begin to lay out grand meals, and string bright and fiery colored decorations about the area. Musicians prepare, and this is also a time many use for repairing old buildings, or barn raisings. Then, an hour before noon, a great hush falls on the crowd as the priests (and bards) tell the tale of Soloris' ascent. This story always ends before the Sun hits it's zenith. That's the moment everyone is waiting for. As the Sun hits that point, triumphant over all, there is a great cheer of Soloris' name, and the real fun begins!

Music, festivitities, even the stuffiest cleric of Soloris, or his most righteous knight lets their hair down and everyone sings, drinks, and dances together in a joyous festival. Light spells are used liberally, and it continues till the Dawn of the next day...though many are passed out long before then.
There are some who see too many clouds on this day as an ill omen, but it's almost always clear, so what's to worry?

Holy Day for Lunari:

Eve of Masks- Lunari is the silver queen, associated with many things, among them, the moon. It is debated if she has had the moon as her domain from the begining, or was a sea goddess first before winning the night, different sects argue. What is known is this: Once the night was full of Demons. The Night Demons were powerful, old, and cruel. Soloris' sword kept them at bay during daylight, but when he rested, as even gods must, they swarmed down to plague mankind anew. As the Night Demons were too cowardly to face the gods in combat, and too wise in darkest sorceries to merely be overcome with direct magics; the Gods were unsure how to deal with them. It was then that Lunari stepped forth and said SHE would deal with them. The others were baffled, but none denied her the right to try. As always, ask a dozen loremasters for the details, and you'll get a dozen different answers. However, it appears that Lunari defeated the Night Demons not with sword nor magical might, but guile.

To each group of Night Demons, she came, each time wearing a different mask. She spoke to one group of another group's plans to conquer them. She spoke to the next of yet another group mentioning a great treasure other Night Demons had. Using their lust, their greed, and their hunger for power, Lunari tricked them one and all into warring with each other. It was then when she put on her last mask, pretending to be a demoness herself, and offered to guide the 'survivors' to safety before the Gods could get them. Out of the land of night, and behind a great door she lead them. Then, taking a silver lock, she closed that door behind them with a slam. That, it is said, is why there are demons in Hel. It was Lunari who trapped them there.

To celebrate this great victory, and their rescue; once a year, the people of Fangea emulate the Silver Queen by wearing masks. Well, that is supposed to be the reason, there's a lot of folks who just enjoy the holiday for the fun it brings. Everyone wears second faces this night, and enjoy pretending to be something they're not. Some use the masks to play pranks, others to avenge wrongs on themselves or others, but mostly they just enjoy the celebration reveling in their annoymity.

A holy day for Stellari

Stardance- Stellari is said to be aloof, so perhaps it seems odd that a holiday dedicated to lovers is hers. Yet, who else but a goddess of stars, gentle breezes, and woodland walks would fit? The story, or stories, behind this holiday are more the province of Bards than priests. It is said that Stellari loved a mortal; a great hunter or warrior whose name is now lost, save to the goddess of faerie herself. It is said this most blessed of men started as the most unfortunate, for he intruded into Stellari's sacred wood uninvited. For this affront, she set seven great tasks upon him to teach him manners, and yet reward his courage- should he succeed. He did, besting each challenge in turn, in no small part to the mercy of the goddess, who could not help but hope he might yet make it. Much to her surprise, Stellari found she had grown to love this mortal. When he triumphed, she let him go, lest her passions destroy him as the quests she sent him on could not. As the story goes (as most tell it), this hero then fell into a plot, overhearing Death's designs to snuff the stars themselves and bring about Stellari's downfall. The hero ran from the hordes of Death itself, battling all the way, to warn the goddess. For he had fallen in love with her as well. As he stumbled into her grove again, struck by one of Death's envenomed arrows, this hero's last words were to warn the goddess, and tell her he loved her. Death's plan had been ruined, but at least he would have the satisfaction of claiming the essence of he who ruined it... or so he thought.

In an act of defiance, Stellari is said to have cast her lover to the stars themselves even as she spat in Death's face. "You shall not have him!" She cried, and the Hero took the form of the constellation now known as "The Champion", and is forever beyond Death's hold. Some say though, that she too is denied him.

Among mortals, lovers gather this day (and evening) to spend time together. Gifts are exchanged, and romantic songs fill the air. There is little to no formality in it, save one. There is the Stardance. It is an intricate dance practiced most often in elven halls or in clearings in the woods. It is a difficult dance to master, but then, love is not easy, is it?
