Friday night was a night of exploration and information gathering. Luckbreaker showed you the town, and you traveled from the merchants quarter in the south, past the smithy and livestock quarter in the west (skirting the castle wall) and headed into the wealthier part of town, where you saw temples to most of the gods and the Mage Guild.
Beneath the Temple of the Jester, you found the well hidden and well guarded Thieves Guild, and spoke with Nightshadow, the Master Thief and Guild Lord. He agreed to help you fence goods taken from the Scarlet Cloaks, create diversions to lure away many of the Scarlet Cloaks on the night of your assault on Justin, and to take your prisoners captive, keeping them safe and secret until this all blows over. In exchange, you promised him 15% of the dragon's hoard, when you (if you) slay the dragon (if indeed there is one). He paid you in gems (20 grand in sapphires) as a show of good faith for the weapons, armor and equipment upon the Scarlet Cloaks you killed that morning(the previous game night).
But he could not help you with the townsfolk or extra might, and so directed you to his enemy, Lieutenant Wayne. Wayne was once a close follower of the Count, and has been reluctant to disobey his commander, Captain Asher, for fear of "disappearing" like so many others. Asher is not a bad man, and is not likely in league with anyone evil here, at least not knowingly. He merely follows orders from his perceived commander (the count) regardless of how questionnable they are. The news of dead babies strikes an emotional chord in him, and he finally musters the courage to do the right thing. While he leaves the assault on the Rest in Peace in your hands, he will gather support among the citizens and guardsmen who share his concerns.
The thieves did not take the horses off your hands, and Gwylln paid Mattie to care for them. Stythel holds the sapphires in his care, and each player present received 1,500 xp for the night. Only Einkil, Stranng and Garrick advanced in level.
I think it is a forgone conclusion that next game will feature massive combat. Your party will sleep safely in the Sword and Shield for the night, and may replenish (and change) spells. Hit points will be cured at 1 hp per level, but if you have more wounds then that, you may wish to heal them before you set out the next day.

It might bear mentioning that in all likelihood, the fight will happen inside the Rest in Peace Inn. A wooden building that may or may not have innocent bystanders (hostages) inside too.
Fire spells or area effect spells probably won't be that great an idea. We could possibly lose the support of Lt. Wayne, the Thieves and the citizens that we worked to build up last time if we wind up injuring or killing innocents or setting fire to the town.

Ok this is quite enough....How many fair or just citizens will be staying at The Rest in Peace Inn?....Rest in Peace inn?..Does this sound like a place you would peruse on a Saturday night for drinks and dancing? How many law abiding citizens are hangin around and speaking to a bunch of leg breakers/loansharks...ie the underbelly of crime? Lt. Wayne would probably be happy if we burned this place to it's foundation....Any way I was thinking of casting a spell inside such as sleet storm that does not do direct damage to human beings but is very uncomfortable...we wait at the exits and hopefully get an attack of opportunity...if need be i can scry the inards of the Inn...something to consider other than plan A.....which is walk up announce our presence and try and kill everything that moves
Is it Human?...dont know...cant tell through the Burns!!!

I wasn't singling you out Straang. Gwylln's wizard spellbook is about 1/4 fire spells too.
Remeber though that we've seen Scarlets in the Sword and Shield, and other establishments. The city's also been described as having buildings in close proximity. The Good, and Lawful aligned characters will balk if apparent innocents get hurt, plus it could adversely affect the party's standing with the citizens and the guards. (Note the /could/ reference. Reputation hasn't been given that much of a play in CF games thus far, but that can be a factor of how Devonshire'll react to us.)

I tend to agree with Straang, the good citizens have other taverns, and I think the Rest in Peace in, even the proprietor would likely be the dregs and red cloaks of the town, yes, scry first, but prepare to take the inside....from outside!
