Ratings for week 2 are neck and neck with the B5 ratings, and SFC remains quite pleased.

<font face="Verdana"><font color="red">With the impending strikes, I was wondering what the general relationship is between the actors and writers. Outside of your productions and possibly X-Files, most actors and writers appear to just stand one another. I rarely read that an actor took a job to work with a specific writer. Quite often it's to work with a director, but rarely do they praise the writers.
Any thoughts on this?</font>

Re: Airing order of Crusade
The general *plot* order is the one that's now airing. This is the order in which people would have met. When things got shuffled around, we had to do things like add in voice-over lines like "good to see you again" in the episode where they were first supposed to meet.

<font color="red">One teeny weeny peeve, though: I know this is an American comic book written by an American mostly for Americans, but I find it slightly awkward that "changing the world" starts with two examples which are just covering American interests. There might have been more of a global feel to those new-found RS goals if the mission in Greece hadn't struck at terrorists targeting *American* interests.
</font>
So you're saying (in reference to the first example which you don't cite, regarding torching cocaine fields) that cocaine isn't a problem in France?
When did that happen, 'cause I must've missed that story on Headline News.

<font color=red>If they will never be sold legally then no profit has been lost by anyone. If they are shown to the public then they are not for close friends only. Put both together and nobody has been harmed in any way by their sale. </font>
You're still not getting it.
You pay $30 bucks for a copy of the bloopers. To whom does that go? Does it go to the actors, whose images you are looking at, who worked day and night to create both the drama and the errors? No, it goes to a pirate.
Profit IS being made. And that profit by all rights belongs to the people who worked hard to make it, not to the vultures out there who prey on both the shows and the fans alike.
These people profit off something they never made, that they have no legal right to, that they illegally obtained. That you do not have a problem with that is profoundly astounding and disturbing.

<font face="Verdana"><font color="red">Since you say the plan is to start shooting TWCBN </font>[That Which Cannot Be Named]<font color="red"> straight after the strike, would it be right to assume that several scripts have already been completed?</font>
Here's the dopey thing...I can answer this and a bunch of related stuff, I just can't say what it IS because the PR department still hasn't gotten to issuing the silly press release.
In general details...
We prep July/August; we plan to shoot right after Labor Day. (Labor actions permitting.) In addition to a two hour pilot, there are now 6 scripts in the works. We've begun refining budgets, talking cast, music, crew, staff have been hired in various areas, contracts have been signed, we have a firm order on 20 hours of TV for this project...we even have a date for our debut, March 15th 2002.
I just can't tell you what it IS yet.

<font color="red">And let's assume all coca fields are destroyed. Will the addicts stop taking drugs, or will they turn to other drugs? And will there be a time where the RS have to torch vineyards, distilleries and tobacco fields?
Bad as those crops are, there are whole economies built around them. Of course, it's all right when it happens to South American countries: serve the scoundrels right for poisoning us in the first place! But what of the vineyards, distilleries and tobacco fields I mentioned earlier? Where does one stop? Aren't there questions the RS aren't asking themselves? Wouldn't it make more sense to try and tackle the problem at the root, wherever that may be?
It seems to me changing the world is an enormous can of worms, and I'm just waiting to see how the RS are going to deal with it.
</font>
Which is in large measure exactly the problem we'll be driving toward.
