LOL Wizz. Must be a telepathic message.

Whatever you do, don't go to the Zocalo at CZ. There is a mouse freeze going on there right now. The only way I could back out was to shut down my internet connection.

I didn't have the mouse freeze problem at CZ, but I didn't stay long, either. Nobody there. Bummer.

I'm really not one to toot my own horn. However, this weekend a good friend of mine and I went on an airplane trip to Nevada. We have done this every year for the last three years, and intermittantly since 1991. The purpose of the flight is to fly a small plane (this year it was a Cessna 172 "Skyhawk II") from Hayward, Calif. to Bakersfield, Calif., then to Laughlin, Nevada. Laughlin is about 15 miles north of the southern tip of Nevada. Nothing there but casino's, a shopping mall, and an airport. We're tasked with figuring out how much time (in seconds) and fuel (1/10's of a gallon) we will take to fly from Hayward, to Bakersfield as one leg, then Bakersfield to Laughlin as the second leg. Along the way for each leg we have to find 3 checkpoints (missing one costs 250 points) plus one bonus point (getting it means an additional 20 points) that is somewhat tricky. Each leg counts on it's own, so if you're late to the first but early to the second, you lose points on both; they don't cancel out.
Time to Bakersfield: 25 seconds early = -25
Fuel to Bakersfield: est. 28.4 used 28.5 = -10
Found all check points and bonus point = +20
Bakersfield run: -15
Time to Laughlin: 5 seconds early = -5
Fuel to Laughlin: est. 29.9 used 29.8 = -10
Found all check points and bonus point = +20
Laughlin run = +5
Total points: -10
Second place came in with -90 points, and they were 2nd last year, 1st the year before, and 2nd the year before that.
We did pretty good...in fact, we did damn good, all things considered. Trophy is ~3ft. tall, plus we won using a rental plane with most of the particpants using their own plane, so we got a plaque for best rental, too. I'm kind of psyched up about this. So, I thought I'd share some good news.

Way to go Wizz!
BTW...I just read about a 7,000 gallon Margarita being created down in Margaritaville at Universal CityWalk, Orlando Fl.

Way to go, Wizz! Congrats! Wow, that must be tough with dealing with all the variables involved, not to mention a plane you aren't all that familiar with!

anybody know what's up with Speculative Vision? I know the site was moving to a new server, but now the URL leads to some bizarro message about computer hackers and the FBI.
i'd query the master, but that means finding the new URL for the site, which would kind of make the question moot.
