Thanks everyone for your thoughts and well wishes , it been a rough week- Saturday I dropped off Sage's food at the local Humane society-the ONLY things remaining with me are his collar and his fuzzy squeaker toys ( i can't bear to give up )
Yesterday I went to the vet to pick up his ashes - maybe this can bring some peace for me and heal the pain - I still miss him

Hi, I'm sorry about your loss,I read your post only today but I want you to know that I feel close to you... I buried my Michina in the garden of my best friend's house, where are buried the other cats Michina used to play (and fight!) with, I believe she's in good company... P.S. The bridge is beautiful

I hope Michina and Sage can become friends at the beautiful rainbow bridge!
Their people are both so nice!

sorry for your loss. friends of mine, when the family cat passed on,their kids were so upset they had the cat stuffed by a taxidermist(like Roy Rogers did to Trigger) in a curled up sleeping position so they could place it on the fireplace mantel. It was weird visiting and seeing the cat there at first, but it worked for them.

That wouldn't have worked for me too! Actually a friend of mine suggested to make Michina stuffed but I didn't agree with that. I understand that people can stuff their pets so they look like they're still alive, but the problem is just that they "look like" alive, but they are not, I'm not the kind of person who cling to the illusion of it, it'd make me feel like obsessed with the memory, and I want to think back to michina like she was, always running around, jumping from everywhere, noisy and wild, having her curled up like sleeping it'd be so unreal that I doubt that it'd heal the pain anyway. Hey Veronica, I sent a picture of me with Michina to your email, did you get that?
