When mentioning how tough the SEC is, why do those fail to mention teams like:
Vandy, Kentucky, Mississippi St, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Arkansas? Or if they do include those teams, it shouldn't be in the same statement as them being tough.
Those 6 teams have a combined record of 14-22 this season. Wow scary! In conference, they're a whopping 3-17, with 2 of those wins coming from powerhouse Vanderbilt!
The bottom 6 in the ACC this season is 14-22 with a conference record of 7-16. So I wouldn't say the SEC is any tougher than the ACC.
Give me a break. The SEC has just as many gimme games in conference as the ACC does. Right now, the ACC has 5 teams in the top 25. The SEC has 6 with one of those teams losing to an ACC team that isn't ranked.
If we want to compare Tech's "narrow" 28-9 win over Maryland last night as a failure, then how about UGA's 23-10 win over Mississippi State! Mississippi State has 2 wins this season. One over Murray State, and the other, a 21-14 win over a Tulane team who is a mess after Katrina! At least Maryland has knocked off a top 25 team this year in UVA, who btw, beat FSU!
So the argument that the SEC is tougher from top to bottom doesn't hold water.
