    Re: Sportsmanship

how do you know he did spit? You havent disproven that ST did anything. The truth is only the ref, ST, and Pittman will ever know, BUT

He said he didnt, the same ref has been notoriously bad, if there was saliva that came out of his mouth, it was probably from yelling.

So after Pittman hit him, why didnt Pittman wipe the spit off of his face?

    Re: Sportsmanship

as i said before only 3 people know...my view is that i think he probably did spit on pitman...so what that is my view and i do not know why a football fan make sit into a big deal

if he did spit then why would he wipe it off if he is in a football game where more than likely he would be sweeting and out of curiousity how do you know he did not wipe it off...i mean were you there...once again you are relying on what you saw on camera...you prove no point by stating that

    Re: Sportsmanship

They showed Pitman on camera for a good 45 seconds after it occured, he never raised his hand to wipe anything off.

Generally human beings are going to wipe spit off their face regardless of the setting. Though spit is probably the most clean substance in the universe, the disrespect of spit makes it feel dirty. Spit is 99.7% water, another words its worse to get rained on. It just happens to be a sign of disrespect and in that case, most everyone would wipe the spit off their face, its a natural reaction.

    Re: Sportsmanship

is it a natural reaction to spit on somebody(if he did)
if he did spit on somebody doesnt that mean that he has no respect for him

to prove my point about ST a football fan go to NFL.com and on the front page there is an interesting article about your boy there...but how can i do research on a subject if yesterday you criticized me for doing it

Redskins' Taylor fined $17,000 for spitting

    NFL.com wire reports

ASHBURN, Va. (Jan. 9, 2006) -- Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor was fined $17,000 by the NFL for spitting in the face of Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Michael Pittman.

Taylor was ejected and penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct for spitting at Pittman in the third quarter of a playoff game on Jan. 7. The offense was considered so egregious that Pittman wasn't penalized for slapping Taylor in the helmet in retaliation.

The amount of the fine is the playoff bonus each Redskins player received for the first-round game, which the Redskins won 17-10.

Taylor escaped suspension for his action, keeping him on the active roster for Washington's Jan. 14 playoff game at Seattle.

"He's just a passionate player out there," right tackle Chris Samuels said. "This upcoming game he'll be able to redeem himself. I don't think he'll make that mistake again."

Taylor did not comment after the game, but he protested his innocence to teammates and assistant coach Gregg Williams.

"He said he didn't do it, so I don't think he did it," cornerback Shawn Springs said.

Taylor has been fined several times in his two-year career for a bevy of infractions, including $25,000 for skipping the league's mandatory rookie symposium. He has several in-season fines for illegal hits and uniform violations, including $5,000 for wearing striped socks that resembled a barber pole in this year's home game against Philadelphia.

He was investigated by the league last season for allegedly spitting at Cincinnati receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh, but no fine was levied because there was no video evidence.

Taylor also had a drunken driving charge last season that was later dismissed. He is scheduled to go on trial next week in Miami on a felony charge of aggravated assault stemming from a June 1 confrontation near his home, although he is expected to request a postponement because of the Redskins' playoff run.

Taylor has been praised by coaches and teammates for taking a more professional approach this season. He's also solidified his role as the defense's best young player and hardest hitter. He has returned a fumble for a touchdown in two straight games.

"He's turned his life around," defensive tackle Cornelius Griffin said. "He's been a more positive guy. He's been a great role model on the field."

if he spit on someone, then he shouldnt have....im not arguing that....im just saying that he said he didnt do it and there is really no proof or evidence that he did.

The Raiders aren't worthy. Keep Charles Woodson happy first.
