Tech has a pretty good shot at Smith and Culliver the rest of those are a bit of a stretch to me except Williams, I don't even know who he is.

Miami leads for Smith at this point, but it really doesnt matter, either way, the canes are gonna get a wealth of wide receivers this recruiting season.

If any of those guys ends up at Tech I'll be surprised, I just thought Culliver and Smith were more likley than the others.

    I sure wouldn't imagine Benn.

Culliver has already committed to NC State so that doesnt really seem like a probability either.

Culliver is a soft commit and is going to unofficially visit with his teammate Oglesby who is a VT verbal before the season starts and then OV during the season with Oglesby

Smith won't leave the surrounding states if he leaves VA...Mark Barnes was at Tyrod Taylor's announcement last night if that tells you anything

    Re: vthokie22...

I was just telling you who he leads. Smith has family in Miami, plus he lives at a beach so the environment is basically the same. Hes been a miami fan since he was a kid according to the article and said they have a slight lead at this point even though he hasnt visited.

Im not sure how much interest Miami has in him, They would take him if he committed now but they definetely have alot of other guys on their list better than Smith. Thompson, Hankerson, Bryant, and Tolliver are at the top of the list, with Guyton, Aiken, McKinnley, Rolle, and Kirkendoll as other guys that could easily end up there. Recruiting wide receivers wont be a problem this year, the depth chart makes that possible. Farquaharson is the best receiver in the land, his techniques are refind and should be a starter from day 1 come next season.

You basically said the same thing about Harvin and McDaniel last year.

    Re: vthokie22...

comment from Jay's dad in today's paper

"I thought it was a great decision to go to Tech," said Mordecai, who added Jay plans to announce his intentions after this coming football season. "In my opinion, and my son's opinion, he's one of the best players in the nation. My son would love to have the opportunity to play with him. It's definitely in our thought pattern (to go to Tech)."

"Not taking anything away from Pete Lalich and Virginia, because the Virginia assistant coaches are great people, but this decision (by Taylor) does play a major factor," Mordecai said. "It's a new era at Virginia Tech. It's the Tyrod Taylor era. We saw the Michael Vick era. Now, we have to brace ourselves for this Tyrod Taylor era."

yes, that is Jay Smith's dad saying those things

here's a comment from Arrelious Benn

"I've never really seen him play, so I don't really know much about him, but I definitely want to talk to him," said Benn, who added that Tech is currently behind Notre Dame, Florida State, Illinois and Maryland on his list. "I know who he is. I'm going to go check out some video and things (on Taylor) right now."
