ok he was a senior when durant was a freshman...curry went down with a hamstring pull and then had a death in the family and missed a couple games which is when durant stepped in but then curry finished out the year as the starting qb

Was it Durant then? I can't remember the cats name, but I could have swore someone took over for Curry during his sophomore, or junior season, and outplayed him.

So lets say Curry started 3 1/2 years. He was good for an average of roughly 1550 yards a year, or 141 yards a game (rushing and passing combined). Thats not exactly stellar performances.

he played under Oscar Davenport his freshman year for a bit but then took over for him

he also played basketball, and UNC isn't a good place to try and play both

Fine, I am just saying that Tyrod could be a success like Vick, or he could be a average college QB like Curry. Look at it this way:

A) Your the top prospect in the nation, your a dual threat QB, and has already started for 2 seasons, and in your best season you average 195 yards per game, and throw for 11 TD's coming off a achilles injury.

B) Your a QB replacing the top QB in school history, and your a moderately coveted prospect coming out of HS. You average 166 yards a game passing, throw for 16 TD's, and don't throw a INT until his fifth game of the season.

Personally I wouldn't see much difference between the two, but who lives up to his billing more than the other. I would say player B would.

I am just saying that Tyrod may be overhyped, and end up just being an average player, who doesn't live up to the hype. There are a lot of player B's out there who may produce just as well, without being no where near the desire on the national recruiting base.

Randall being a better quarterback than Marcus Vick is a prime example of that.

and i get that, all im sayin is that what happened to Curry was part his fault but mainly circumstances out fo his control...he chose to play basketball as well, he couldnt develop very much as a qb in the offseason because of that...he chose to go to UNC who was on the downswing after being pretty good in the mid 90's...if he had stayed with UVa and went strictly football he wouldve had much better stats as well as a much better shot at playing qb right now rather than wr

He and Marcus were too much alike IMO. Both very athletic, decent QB's but not NFL QB material.

So, can I take it you do think player B outplayed his potential versus that of player A?

not really enough information to know one way or the other...both sound similar, a lot more to judge a qb than by yards, tds and ints
