Clintwood-Haysi

Was pretty much the game lots of people thought it would be. Both teams had times where they looked good, looked bad. Hate it for the Owens kid, really good kid as far as I know. He's been pretty much automatic prior to now. He's young though, no doubt he'll come out on the other side of several such kicks.

I'm happy Clintwood won, can't say that it was a pretty game to watch. Both teams defense played well, Haysi suffered in Special Teams (KO return, Missed FG, Missed XP).
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.

Re: Clintwood-Haysi

It was a great game. By far the best game we played this year. Only 1 turnover. Forced a couple from Haysi. Pretty much shut their run game down. They'd get a few good runs. For the most part it was tough yardage for both teams. I was shocked that Colley didn't throw the ball on us more in the second half. We couldn't cover a bed today. 3,7,48 for Haysi are studs. Those kids played their hearts out. It was a great game. The best I'd seen since CW/Honaker in 99. I thought that 7,8,44,71,87 all played really well for CW today also. Thanks to both squads for giving us a great game to watch.

All I heard was how good they were, how soft Clintwood was, how overrated PV was from them.

Re: Clintwood-Haysi

I'm not going to down them, Haysi was good. There was more than a few of them judging Clintwood from the first game, but honestly, we probably only have a handful of players in the same spots they were then.

It was a good crowd, both sides vocal. One of the louder Clintwood crowds in sometime. That was a nice surprise.

[censored] shame I have to miss the All-LPD Region D final. Was looking forward to seeing both rematches.

Re: Clintwood-Haysi

I was a little suprised by the "small" crowd for the Haysi side. They have those three sets of bleachers, the middle was full, the lower one next to the field house was 3/4 full, and the one on the school side was almost empty. The CW side was packed. I was on the fence with a huge group of CW folks, and there was another large group of CW folks in the corner next to the concessions.

Re: Clintwood-Haysi

Both crowds were loder than any other game I have been to this year I hope that carrys over to next week

Haysi played a tough game but the turnover that usaly bite Clintwood in the butt got Haysi and Clintwood was able to take advantage. IMHO Clintwood will have to cover the pass a bit better next week.

Both Clintwood and PV are playing better football now than they were when they played each other eairlyer in the season

Re: Clintwood-Haysi

In the first CW/PV game, PV had 4 starters on the sidelines. PV rushed 60+ times, with only 4 passes. I wouldn't expect the same this next round.
