i don't know of any coach that would try to run the flex against a zone...and if the flex is so outdated then why does bruce pearl run it at tennessee...

I disagree. If a team knows how to set screens (most teams don't, most players don't find the defensive person) and use screens (how to come off of them), the flex and all forms of the offense can be used to score easy buckets.
Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play. It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfulness, disregard of all rules and sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence. In other words, it is war minus the shooting.
