Biggest ?/ Concern About Your Team LPD Football Fans

    What is your biggest ?/concern?

As a JJK fan, mine is Are we going to finish the deal? Last year, we had a slew of drives stall out in the redzone. If we are going to run the ball-control gameplan, we are going to have to score when we get in the redzone. We aren't going to have firepower to shoot it out with the Burton's obviously, so we are going to have to cash it in when we get to the door. I think we are going to be able to pound it out on the ground successfully this year, but I'd hate to see us go 65 yds and leave it at the 9.

Wise needs to develop an intermediate passing game to help their O. As for PV, I think they need to improve their running game. The key to that could be Lawson if Phil decides to use more I formation. It would help to get the O-Line in a 3pt stance as well. In D they need more FIRE. Big hits and a lil explosion through the ball carrier could be contagious.

Re: Biggest ?/ Concern About Your Team LPD Football Fans

CW gets my preseason nod above everyone else. They had spots of brilliance last year and return the core of their starters. The switch at RB mid season set new spark to CW and the momentum I believe will carry over to this year. With the experience and talent as well as PV and Burton both losing some key players they get my preseason #1.

PV lost linemen on both sides of the ball, best LB and DB. They will struggle on D as well as on O again this year because of the line. If your going to Establish a running game the Id have Myron Pinkston getting the ball. Has a years experience now and may have to carry the Pv offense.

    Burton:

The Line - I know they got a lot of playing time last year but that was pretty much "junk" time when the game was put away and against teams that were worn down. They will have to grow up this year. Will need to be able to run the sweep and that means we will need a threat up the middle. No matter who you are, if you don't have the blocking you are not going anywhere.

The line on the D-side will have to be able to keep our backers free and put pressure on the QB and make plays in the backfield

WR - need some to step up and become a threat on the outside. Stewart will only improve at QB getting bigger, stronger and smarter so we need some guys to step up and be a threat from the WR position and not rely on the slot guys as your WR spots.

this just my opinion from the outside looking in but that is what I feel like is going to be questions that need to be answered

The passing game is going to be addressed. We will toss it some this year. You cannot win in this league without balance. We know this.

I think PV would do better in the I with Myron as the FB and Lawson as the TB...and Malcolm as a WR. The D can't suffer much..there were players on the bench last year as good as some of the starters.

Clintwood : The 2 bigginst thing that worry me are

#1 - Playing 4 full qtrs 3 games last season were winnable if you could toss out 1 qtr

#2 - Must be able to stop the PowerRunning game sure Clintwood did a better Job near the end of the season but the better running teams are early games for us

#3 - OK I will add a #3 Must replace #71 he was a heck of a ball player and will be missed

The D was exposed many times last year, such as Honaker and CW as well as Giles and burton pounding away. Honaker and CW both had a lot of success running the ball between the tackles on PV. Honaker as well as CW had some questionable play calling when they got down in the redzone though.

Re: Biggest ?/ Concern About Your Team LPD Football Fans

That's exactly what I was saying. It's true that PV lost some good players in the first 3 games..namely Caleb Phillips who was one of their better DTs...but they had some pretty good players sittin on the bench that were as good as what was on the field. Traditionally, if you are gonna run on the Vikings they place to try to do it was up the middle cuz of the D's speed. But without the big bodies up front doing their job, and LBs missing tackles that is hard to do. I'm not gonna sit here and call out numbers, but at OLB PV was pretty pathetic at times...no toughness whatsoever.
