RICHLANDS 49 TAZEWELL 0 - My Blue Tornados maybe aren't world beaters but this is a game that they will take out some punishment on Tazewell for last week's hiccup against Graham. The Tazewell Bulldog Puppies had better eat all the Puppy Chow they can..... because they wont be able to chew on the thick slab of T-Bone that our Blue Tornados are going throw their way. Not a whole lot else to say here..... when you say Richlands... you've said it all basically. Now to a team that to me.... has fallen on hard times and I am sad to see it happen to them. The Devils....

VIRGINIA HIGH 42 GATE CITY 0 "? I have heard that this is GC's Homecoming Game. Now I have been a very strong and respectful admirer of Gate City's football program for a very long time. But if you want my honest opinion, I watched us play Gate City up here at Richlands and I felt so sorry for the players and the coaches that had to coach those players. Why? Well... I never thought I would say it ever about the Devils... but the margarine in my refrigerator.... lets just say that its a lot harder and tougher than any of GC's players ever thought of being. If GC had thought to schedule John Battle for their Homecoming.. it would have made more sense. They are more on Battle's level of competition these days. Chilhowie is not as bad as people think and I've heard from friends that V-High was saving up a lot of their muscle for this week to lay down a power smack on the Blue Devils this week that is going to be worse than last year. So to Gate City fans.. I've seen you talk bad about teams like Pound, Coeburn, etc... that you found inferior to you in the LPD on here.... well.. I have one statement to tell you now. You are in the Clinch Mountain District and now.... you are Pound and Coeburn. Welcome to the life of inferiority in the Clinch Mountain... not to mention the rest of your schedule.

Clintwood 27 Powell Valley 24 - I see an upset.... I see an upset.... well... an upset stomach anyway that Mr. Cedric Mitchell will be having after he throws about 3 interceptions tonight to further enhance the strangulation that Burton put on him last week. The Vikings felt rough last week having Burton on the edge.... this week... the Wave will put the Vikings over the edge.... the edge of insanity anyway.

J.J. KELLY 48 RYE COVE 7 "? I believe there is a changing of the guard at Wise. Wise is actually letting the high school guys play on the football team now instead of fielding a varsity football team of middle schoolers and they are now winning.

ST. PAUL 14, CASTLEWOOD 12 "? Welcome to the championship game of the CUMBERSOME DISTRICT.... enough said.... this game that could determine the "Cumbersome District" championship would probably be for 7th place in the Super Southwest.

TWIN SPRINGS (-7) ERVINTON (-14) "? The Titans will reverse their fortunes beginning with this win....becoming the first team to win with a negative point total.

J.I. BURTON 55, COEBURN 7 (halftime) "? Just once I'd like to see these guys play our Blue Tornado. Of all the teams in the LPD, CMD, Cumbersome and White Diamond District (yes like the Elizabeth Taylor perfume and teams that are probably like Taylor too... old, feminine and would rather look good than anything), Burton you should be proud. We, the Blue Tornados, are proud to call you our equals.

APPALACHIA 48, POUND (-21) "? I have to give the Pound coach credit. He is a great guy and you have to respect him for what he wants to do in life. We heard that he had went to Texas for the ministry and I admire anyone who is involved in their faith.... but like others around Southwest Virginia.... instead of seeing a program that had lost its way and laughing at its flounderings,.... Coach Crabtree left and went on a mission of sorts and who knows... one day... he may help Pound to find its way and bring back to Pound something that they have never known for a long time..... a win. I mean... we at Richlands ... our goals are the state championship every year. How bad is it when you are at a school and you have goals set to win 3 ballgames.... and win you beat a Powell Valley team or Clintwood or Appalachia... you equate it with winning a championship.... ONE GAME. Woe to those who are deceived by reflections of greatness that they see in the mirror... for they live in a world that is all their own. But praise be to those who do not look into a mirror live satisfied with their own world they see looking back at them...but praise be to those who look out into the world and see how low and humble they are but strive for nothing but to be greater than those that they see before them.

HAYSI 10, TWIN VALLEY 7 "? Nothing like a great game in the White Diamond District.

These next few games... some of these teams are so bad I'm not even going to comment on the score for them.

Abingdon at Honaker - This is a beautiful game....... why? This beautiful field will show just how ugly the football is in Southwest Virginia... especially with these two disgraceful teams taking the field.

Carroll County 49 William Byrd 14 - Here is giving props to the only team that can hang with the Blue Tornados in going for a SWD Championship. Graham got very very lucky.... admit you Bluefieldians....

George Wythe 56 Fort Chiswell 7 - GW.... they arent nothing but a bunch of Maroons....and what is a maroon? A dark red Spanish nut. I guess we should start calling Wytheville........ La Casa De Fruit Loops.

Holston 28 PH-Glade Spring 7 - Holston, Carroll County, UVA-Wise, UVa... must be a good year to be a Cavalier.

Marion at Grundy - The Scarlet Hurricanes at the Golden Wave.... sounds like a bad Weather Channel documentary.

Ask some of your D1 athlete if GCs soft.

GC is not soft not coeburn and if we havn't of turned the ball over and made some early season mistakes with our young players when we played you guys at your place we would of put that win streak to a screeching hault early. To say we are low now? What about richlands? Big AA, D1 QB school almost getting smacked down by "coeburn"?
