Playing the games is the better way to go. The teams will be fine, and I doubt they will be wore out going into the tourny. Practice is longer and just as tough as playing.

This whole coin flip idea is outrageous! Seed the top three teams according to overall record, and then let the top two finishers in the LPD tournament constitute the region D participants. This coin flip introduced a randomization which really isnt fair to either kelly or powell valley. The only way to fairly do this is to do a double round robin double elimination mini-tournament b/w the three schools which just isnt practical.

As I said, just let the top two tournament finishers go to the regional tournament and do away with this random crap.

They get the automatic bid but no bye due to the 8 team format. If I'm not mistaken the #1 seed may also get to host the 1st round games with the semis and finals at a "neutral" location.

I found out tonight that the tourney will be the top 8 in power points with the seeding being 1-8, 2-7, etc. So one district could have 3 or 4 teams depending on how the ratings shake out.
