Hansbrough gets his number put up in the banners

ESPN reported that junior Tyler Hansbrough will have his jersey retired after this season, even though he has all intentions of staying for his senior year

A high honor to be put in the rafters along side MJ and Worthy

He's been saying it the past few years and I dont think I would leave when I just got a National POY award, I mean why not stay another year and have a great chance to win a National Championship

y stay and maybe not have as good of a year as this year? i mean i am a tareheel fan but i know he wont amount to much in the NBA. i hope he does but i jus highly doubt he will. I wish he would stay but i am looking at the reality of the situation.

I havent heard one report of other than him saying he was gonna stay for his senior year, I think he will

but really thats a great honor for anybody to have there # retired at UNC

When this was posted on ESPN, someone posted there that he has signed a lease on his apartment for next year. Not that they're hard to get out of, but that's a pretty good sign.

I love the Heels to death and I like Hansbrough's intensity he brings to the team, BUT he doesnt deserve to have his jersey retired. Apparently the ruls at UNC is, if any player wins any of the playrer of the year awars they get their jersey retired. Hans won the Sporting news player of the year award this year.

I love the idea of him getting it retired before he's a senior
do I think it should already be up there? not exactly

but if he does come back next year ,which I think he will than it wouldve ended up there anyway

if he comes back he will most likely break the scoring record but as of right now i agree with burton, he doesnt deserve to ahve his jersey up there... maybe next year he should
