That is possible, but I don't think you'll hear his named mentioned in the same sentence as MJ, Kareem, or Magic. Kobe's name is already in the conversation.
I disagree. I think unless the injury bug bites him CP3 will be one of the best point guards of all time.
Reeking of awesomeness!

I've seen times this season (and yes, I did watch the Hornets several times in the regular season and in almost every playoff game so far), where Paul would try to do too much, get into trouble--and pass the ball off--and someone like Chandler would take the wild oop and put it down, or Peja/West/Mo-Pete would bail him out by nailing a jump shot. It's not always the PG setting someone up so perfectly that they can't help but make the shot--if that were the case, PG would be the most important position on the floor--and in the NBA at least--it's not. It's either SG or C.

That shows to me you don't know the game. If they had an decent NBA PG, and the pieces around Paul matured this season as they all have, then any PG could have led the Hornets to the year they had. Now--would said other PG have had quite the production Paul has? Of course not. That's not what was meant--what was meant was that the team could have done the same thing with another PG. If those guys are working to get open, and their games have all matured at the same time and they simply click as a squad--Paul could have been replaced.
God forbid Paul gets hurt--but lets assume he did and Pargo was slotted in at that starting PG spot with another capable backup behind him (i.e. a Speedy Claxton/Earl Watson type). The level of production out of the PG spot may go down, but I'd about guarantee that someone, probably West, would have scored more and taken on a bigger role...because he's capable--and don't say he isn't because that's an all-star player we're talking about there--he'd be capable.
No one on the Lakers is capable of taking Kobe's spot w/o any fall off on team productivity. THAT is why he's the MVP.

How big of a difference is there between Chris Paul and Deron Williams? Not a lot IMO, and have been in the league for a similar amount of time.
Let's look at it this way. The Hornets were healthy all year. The Lakers lost Bynum part of the way through and picked up Gasol. The Hornets were 17 games better this year than last year. The Lakers were 15 games better this year than last year. Bynum played in 35 games this year. Gasol was picked up on Feb. 1, and at most played in 37 games, but was also hurt for a period of his time after he joined the Lakers, but if he played every game, there would still be a 10 game gap the Lakers had without a quality big man, and still won the West over the Hornets. Point, set, match, game. Kobe.

First of all no he wouldnt be because only one of them was a PG...secondly Kobe isnt mention with Kareem or Magic because they play the same position...He has been in the league 12 years so yeah hes gonna be compared to more greats than Paul...and Kobe is not up there with MJ and never will be as will nobody else....only reason they even talk about that is that they are always trying to find someone to compare to MJ because he set the bar....anything else?

If im not mistaken West was out a couple games this year too, and imo West is not as good as Gasol...the Lakers have Odom, yeah dont forget that...the Hornets have Peja which his game really hasnt improved because hes always been about to burn it up...This year was based on prior years by Kobe, Paul and the hornets were highly underrated and Kobe Bryant is Kobe Bryant and deserved one this year because of the other years he didnt get it...thats what this years MVP was judged on...and the fact they "won" the west means nothing to me...4 of their last 6 games were against below 500 teams and they clinched it with a win over the Kings, so yeah...
Mr. raider13, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this board is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

And that was stupid also...its my opinion.. I think Paul deserved it this year more than Kobe, there are a lot of ppl that agree with that and alot that dont...to say what you just said was dumb IMO

It's from Billy Madison--it wasn't mean to be profound or highly intelligent. Me clowning a little on your backpedalling response to what Stripes said ain't gonna kill ya.
As for "a lot of ppl that agree with that":

So...it's not nearly as close as you think.
