Is this right? Essex had 8 errors? </div></div>

They actually had no more than 5. Three of those 8 were balls in the outfield that were bobbled as the outfielder charged hard attempting to throw out a runner at the plate. The bobbles resulted in the outfielders not having an attempt at the plate to throw out the runner from 2nd. The batter didn't advance an extra base on any of those so really no error should have been recorded because you can't assume that the outfielder was going to throw out the runner. The official scoring for the tournament was questionable in all the games, reversing several rulings in the 3 games.

The only thing worse than the scorer was the man behind the plate yesterday. I have never seen a strike zone that small. Unless you hit the inside part of the plate, you were out of luck. I gotta give him credit though. He was that way on both sides. I still cannot for the life of me see how the ump missed Sproles' tag on the man at first. I am glad that that one was overturned (good to see a conference and someone get it right)

Congratulations Kelly. Our "little region" served all of us well this weekend as well as every sport all year long.
