Its time to get rid of phil just because we won the 98 national championship doesnt mean he should get to coach at ut until he retires.

thats just the first game. If this crap continues then Ill be a little worried but for now I still think he is a good coach.

based on what?
they do the same [censored] every year
the past few years hes good for 4 losses a season
hardly the markings of a "good" coach
dont you pull for miami??
Yeah, Phil hasn't exactly been the best at rolling with the punches as of late. He brought in a new OC with a new style of offense which was a step in the right direction, but he needs to cut the guy loose and see what happens. If that doesn't happen and he chooses to use the I formation a lot, then run the damn ball, don't throw it 40 times a game. I know running the ball will open up the passing game, but if they can't stop the running game, you don't need the passing game to open up.

He does, and the AD that was dumb enough to hire Coker and keep him around to bring our program to the depths of ineptitude it had never seen before has thankfully retired, and a new sheriff is in town at both positions and seem to know what the hell they're doing so far. So, at least Miami realized their disastrous error within 5-6 years and banished Coker to ESPNU to die.
More than can be said for the modus operandi of The Great Pumpkin and the Tennessee braintrust (if you can call it that for keeping him around).
Coker won a title in 2001 after being hired that year, and was a rat's nuthair away from another one in 2002. Two years ago he was fired. Phil won a title in 1998 after being hired in 1992. Now, it's 10 years after the title and 16 years after being hired, Tennessee is mired in relative mediocrity (read: a worse team than what they should be), and is still holding on to that job. How? I have no fargin idea.
i agree that UT could be better. I just dont think anyone can say anything about a team that had a better record than the team that you pull for.
