Sad press conference...... It is sad that he is gone but we can't beat the good teams and that has to change. We are 6-14 vs Top 25 teams over the past 4 years, that is unacceptable.

Go back in time and make Spurrier the coach those years Manning was there and they win the National Championship every year.

He decommitted from WVU. I never say anyone's a done deal till their names on the dotted line. He may be looking at the QB situation as part of the reason to stick with UT.

I think Phil is a good man and I wish him the best of luck in the future and I hope Tennessee keeps him on the staff some how but the Vols needed a change.

I can't wait and see who'll the next coach be!!!!!!!

we all know that but every QB is going to be compared to Manning. As good as Ainge was it was never good enough for most Vol fans

Same goes for Casey Clausen as well.

Last information i read was that Boyd said he felt that UT was the place he wanted to be no matter who was the Head Coach...Take it for what it's worth.

On Rivals they have several reactions from this years class and for the most part all said they would still be coming if their position coach is not moved. Some have said no matter what they are staying, as in Tahj Boyd, but some have said they will see who is named the new Coach before they make a decision.

One very intersting one is Jarvis Giles, the #2 all purpose back in this years class from the State of Florida. He is going to be an early graduate and enrolling in a month or so, so his decision will have to be made quick and he is one on the fence unless Drayton is retained. I for one hope he still stays a Vol, I like him a lot.
