    Re: region d championship

Gridiron fans planning to attend Saturday?s Region D Division 1 and 2 football championships at Virginia-Wise should plan to arrive earlier than they have in the past.
They?ll need to arrive early enough to catch a shuttle bus.
Because of ongoing construction of the new convocation center on the campus of Virginia-Wise, parking at Carl Smith Stadium will be limited to designated school buses, handicap vehicles and special passes issued by Region D.
Otherwise, fans attending the game will be required to park either at J.J. Kelly High School or at the Greear Gymnasium parking lots on the other side of the university?s campus.
Beginning at 10:30 a.m., continuous free shuttle service will be provided between the stadium and the two designated parking areas and will run until the stadium is cleared after the second game. People will also be allowed to park at other on-campus parking locations and walk to the back gate of the stadium, if they so choose.
The Region D Division 1 title game, set for a 12:30 p.m. kickoff

Region D fans should be prepared to park and use free shuttle Saturday - Kingsport Times-News Online

serious, what is so bad about ridding a shuttle bus? going to Dollywood you ride the shuttle from the parking lot to the entrance, no difference, no big deal.

I've never seen so much whining in all my life.

There is still more parking on the UVA-Wise campus than any single high school in the area

He's got a point. There is more parking on the campus than anywhere else around here. For some reason people must not have known or just chose to park within 100 feet of the field. It's much easier to get in and out of there if you park at the college and use the pathway from campus to the left hand side of the homeside bleachers. Nowhere in what starbuck posted did it say you have to ride a shuttle bus. Anyone who does that is doing it for no reason.

If you know anything about UVAW, you probably know where that reflecting pond or whatever is. Just park anywhere around there. Most on campus students are probably gone for the holiday and there should be parking just about everywhere. If you're standing in the road right next to the pond, look left and there are some buildings there, the hill behind that has a walkway that leads to the field.
