The only high school quarterbacks in recent years who were able to actually read the defenses were Robbins, and maybe Turner and they didn't crouch behind the center. Stuart's head was literally looking up the center's arse. Looks to me like he was afraid of taking the snap without looking at it.

Another thing I didn't see was that neither offense ran the shotgun at all. They wer just the basic offenses and I can understand their reasoning.

So, if they can't read the defense, what difference does it make if they see the changes?

I could read a D, and I stayed in a crouch. Turner had to crouch too. He was too tall not to with his center if I remember correctly. Robbins rarely took a snap under center. Also, more QBs can probably read a D to some level than you think.

I know Counts (Heath) not Counts on here could read a defense pretty well.
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.

Cedric Mitchell could read defenses as well. He was not as good at making changes or finding the holes as Brad was, but Ced was able to make changes and read defenses to an extent, thats one reason you saw him take off and run a lot his senior year.
