The 2000 footage between North and Appalachia clearly says otherwise, so those are some scores I'm missing. I swear I seem to recall them playing in 1999 too.
pretty sure we did, i know we played them my 7th and 8th grade year. we didnt play them my freshman year i dont think.
Cant we all just get along?

Its a shame they chickened out of scheduling Gate City. Was looking forward to seeing this series renewed.

I remember my sophmore and junior year we played Virginia High, those were two good games. I remember we played against Alex Walls, former UT kicker

They didn't chicken out, they really wanted to play GC. Coach Cox said evryone said yes at the same time and they had to make a schedule and didn't want to play five team from Va. so they picked up South. I am GC grad my son plays for North I would have loved to have seen them play. maybe next time

From what the coaches told me North backed out with the excuse they could not compete with Gate City. You even said they picked PV over GC because they felt they could compete with PV better than GC.

I am sure I am not alone on thinking that the cant compete excuse is the same as being pure chicken. Not saying Norths players are chicken but who decided to back out of negotiations sure is. Now North will be traveling past a quality team that would bring a huge gate not once but 4 times the next two years. The best thing that came out of North sprouting feathers is GC now has Clintwood back on the schedule.

My,my,my this has turned from a nice discussion to one of name calling and ridicule, I would expect my fellow GC fans to have a little more class than that. Be an example not a hindrance I don't know all the details on who did what and where just what people told me. North has a small team 48 players with no (zero) feeder schools all they get is what comes out. It is remarkable what they have been able to accomplish with as few players as they have.

Gate City and North are the same size enrollment wise. Like I said before I am not calling all of North Chicken. Just whoever opted to back out. As for name calling is it alright that you resort to name calling in another thread but when I do it towards North it is classless?

So you can say names like Big Blow Gap, and Cry Valley towards PV but me calling the ones at North Chicken for backing out on GC I am being classless? I think we have a case of Pot meet Kettle.:mooning:

    Re: Scheduling

Don't let facts get in the way of a good thing, In every decision you make you have got to weigh the facts before you do things, and I guess I have made parenting decisions based on fear. Coach Norris is trying to do the things he thinks is right for a program that in two or three years may not exist anymore. If all that goes down with Kingsport happens the way we here it going too. I said in my quote "a little class" that is all you need dealing with PV. Good job on research though I hope you did that good in school on research papers. always remember sticks and stones.
