Looks like Union may benefit the most from the consolidation followed by Castlewood, if you're just counting heads.

Went to Castlewood and Burton looked not so good????????????? When I left if you count the 2 bad snaps by C-wood one recovered by Burton in endzone and the other probably
would have been but the ball was knocked down by C-woods Head coach it was 3 TD's Burton 2 TD's C-Wood. So that say's something as weak as C-Wood and the Cumberland have been to be that close to Burton.??????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????
Honistly Burton never looks very good in there scrimmages it seems that every year there is a thread started foretelling there downfall.......IMHO we will have to wait till week 1 to see how thing really are with Burton
I believe both of those bad snaps were during the 2s playing. 1s on 1s was 2-1 Castlewood I believe. But, its just a scrimmage.
Im not giving Central a Chance, simply because its not like 2 schools with Good Football Programs were added together.
Two teams with Sub-Par Football teams were added together. So anyone outside the Central Warrior circle can't imagine them being anything better than a sub-par football program, especially since the best thing going for J.J. Kellys football program (their coach) is now out. Considering the Size of the School they should be LIGHTYEARS ahead of where they were. Its early but think the LPD will go out like this
Union 6-4 (3-0)
Clintwood 7-3 (2-1)
John I. Burton 7-3 (1-2)
Central 6-4 (0-3)
If Central Stays within 2 or 3 touchdowns of any of the other LPD Teams Id be suprised.
If I'm predicting for this year...I'm predicting...
LPD Football
Union 7-3 (3-0)
Clintwood 7-3 (2-1)
Norton 6-4 (1-2)
Central 3-7 (0-3)
LPD Boys Basketball. ----> going ahead and getting it done. Haha
Central 18-4 (5-1)
Union 15-7 (4-2)
Norton 10-12 (2-4)
Clintwood 4-18 (0-6)
LPD Girls Basketball
Cenral 22-0. (6-0)
Clintwood 12-10 (4-2)
Union 10-12 (2-4)
Norton 4-18 (0-6)
LPD Baseball
Central 22-0 (6-0)
Union 16-6 (4-2)
Norton 13-9 (2-4)
Clintwood 10-12 (0-6)
Not into gambling money as I don't believe in it,but i'll wager a steak dinner at the most expensive eatery in the region that Central does better than 3-7. You up for it? :)
i will wager that norton will not b3 3rd in baseball and in football!!!
I don't really think CW is gonna benefit that much since the numbers may throw them into D2 and they didn't get the athletes to support it. Their gonna have a bunch of new kids in the school with very few on the fields/courts.
I also heard yesterday that some of the latest talk is that SP's K-8 could be closed as early as next semester due to low numbers. They have dropped from 230 some to 195 and is expected to drop even more. That's 22 kids per grade, they are down to one teacher per grade level in most grades. Heck even had one report from a friend who's wife teaches 8th grade that midway through summer there were only 2 8th graders even registered.
Good point about D2. If it does put them into D2 then that's a different story. If it doesn't I still think it will be a big boost to them. They got Edmonds, Hileman and several other of S.P.'s better players according to the article.
