I'm just glad someone is posting, lol. I agree, I miss the days you speak of in the NBA. As far as football, couldn't agree more. I mean, I am for safety but they are taking it way overboard these days. I was a LB'r playing QB so I liked to hit, that didn't bother me a bit. Just so happens I sucked at both, haha.

I understand that hitting helmet to helmet is a serious issue, but (IMO) you pretty much now you got like an 18" area you can hit (chest to waist). But really how many pros do you see that actually wrap up and tackle today? I would venture and say not many! Seems like they all out for the kill shot. Don't get me wrong though, I love a big hit but damn. That is one of the first things you're taught when you're a kid playing peewee or whatever. It doesn't stop there either. You practice it in HS and I am pretty sure they do it in college I may be wrong there haha. But to me it seems like once you go pro you go brain dead and forget all that. Ah hell maybe its me living in an old timers day of the good ole days.
