How do you know that Bush is using falsely using religion as something to gain a position? Do you know him that well? A person's religious beliefs come from the inside and a lot of the times can't be seen on the exteral aspect of a person. Where Bush's believes are put out in public, everyone thinks they know what it all means....and that leaves so much room for people to analyze what Bush beliefs and his actions. The last time I checked drinking isn't morally wrong. There is nothing in the Bible that says that drinking is a sin. And if you are going to base your views of Bush's religious beliefs on court records, then you too are twisting something that really doesn't even have to do with religion. Yes what he did was wrong, yes what he did could have hurt himself and others, but does that make him banned from being a Christian or less Christian.....no....and holding something like that against anybody is the opposite of what Christianity teaches.
And actually more than half of Wise County voted Kerry in the past election.....so actually this area is leaning more towards liberal....
