    Re: flu

You have the 'loyal, hardworking, dedicated students' who insist on coming to school no matter what. Their thinking is "I'm tough, I can make it through the day." And they succeed the virus spreading it to everyone in creation.
AND there are the parents who send their poor kids to school no matter what - using the school system as a babysitter.
The only thing that will top the spread will be to close the schools.
    You'll shoot your eye out.

Well 126 by noon at PV is a good rate. I mean come on. And what i think a 100 at Pound. Heck im amazed they had the boys to play basketball tonight.
And how about fans? Man can you imagine how the flu bug can travel. Esp. that many together in one gym? This could get ugly fast. From school kids to adults.
They may end up having to cancel school for a few days just to have some able to come back to teach. One of the problems in TN. was not just students but staff sick also.

    Re: flu

there are a lot that go home that are not really sick, just taking advantage of the situation.

That's not good then. That can cause them to cancel school for no reason then come back and it really hit. Then you end up with a mess.
I know they give out a lot of guidelines to follow. But i guess unless the school nurses or someone, can check a student out you will have that happen.
That does create another problem, but i guess some figure better to let them go, if they think they do have it, then keep them there and let them infect others?
But what students need to think about they fake it now and it does hit and schools are force to close. Well that just extends their days.
They have to have so many days or use to. I know there is a few emergency things in there, but best i remember they had to usually have that 180 days in to complete the calendar year. If not it was extended to get as close as possible.

Whomever said if they close it 1/2 will be out somewhere was completely correct. If they close the schools due to it, everybody will just be out somewhere seeing each other and that doesn't keep it from spreading.

What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.

I think starbuck said it. I was thinking the same thing. You fake it now and then catch it and go back to school, and spred it.
Just another mess. I guess the best idea is doing a check of students for true symptoms of the flu.
Anyone can feel achy. But if some are doing it just to get out. All that will lead to is a bigger mess in the long run.
A lot of problems in what happened in TN. was actually students and staff. They were even short of bus drivers due to the flu.
Some good things to do would be extra house cleaning using a lot of disinfectants to slow it down. And maybe some hand soap that has mild disinfectants in them.
May cost a little extra now. But would be well worth it. Esp. if it gets as serious as it did in TN.

    Re: flu

I'm very leery of going to any games because of the possibility of catching someone's funk.

Might have to isolate myself over the next two weeks.
