anyone know what the prices are on them nowadays..mine just messed up today after at least 12 + good years of service..

lookin for another 27 incher, or bigger...anyone know the prices??

You'll prolly wanna get an HD-Ready TV now because everything soon will be in HD.

It is really according to what you want. You can get a plain jane 27" for like $168. I would suggest at least a flatscreen (not a flat panel), they should start at about $248 for a 27". You can get a plain jane 32" for $247. If money isn't a big deal then go ahead and get a High Def tv. By the end of next year all tv signal's will be high def (the law will not permet analog signal's anymore after next year) and one thing to remember that high def signal is Widescreen. Look for a tv that has a converter box built in, it is cheaper than buying a high def ready tv then having to buy the high def box to go with it. Wal-mart has a 32 " Sanyo that has the conveter box built into them. If you choose to go with a high-def ready but no box built into it and you want a box buy it at Radio Shack. The one Walmart carries if for use with an anteana only, Radio Shack has one you can use with cable. High-Def tv's are going to go for around $650 or so.
and if money really isn't any object buy a Plasma or an LCD tv. The plasam will give you a little more color and "wow" but the LCD will give you an awesome picture also but a Plasma is expected to last 10 years, an LCD is expected to last 20 and is a bit cheaper
