Take off the elephant blinders for once...that's exactly what happened. This war was motivated by false pretenses and greed. And who are the ones paying? All I know is that gas was anywhere from 2.03/gal to 2.30/gal this past week when I took a trip down to Florida and back. Seems like the American people are getting hosed and the troops are being abused and mistreated, some even dying. No American life is worth a barrel of oil. But this war is quickly determining that we're no better than the "black gold" being pumped out of the ground. That's what we get for letting oil schysters run our country. Senior, Dubya, and Cheney may not have direct interests in how their prior investments have done due to their personal assets and investments being put into private trusts once they were in office, but I guarantee you that whoever is taking care of those private trusts has an ear open to what is going to make money...and that's the war on terror, or the war for more oil. Everybody kind of seems to forget that they still have a personal stake in things...

We've traded one horrible worldly consequence (violence) for another (greed). And I think it's sad that a president can look dead into a camera and ask us, the American people & troops to stand behind his personal lust for money, power, and revenge. It makes me sick.

And NO--that's not liberal hooey and I'm not a heathen who doesn't believe in God and I'm not the next Michael Moore. I'm just someone who has kind of taken in these past 6-7 years or so and seen that there's been greivous errors made across the board. Dubya and the rest of the politicians that are in Washington right now have just made it that much worse.

When two cabinet members say the opposite of each other. I thinks it's time the whole cabinet sets down and re-evaluates the plans and stragegy.
One said two years. And then the other one says we could be there 12. And that was just on Iraq.
We've not mentioned the the uprising beginning in Afghanistan. But now they have their own little uprising going on. And what country last invaded there and had to leave? Russia? Or the Soviet Republic.
Yes someone needed to pay for 9/11. But who is paying? And who is still paying? We are.
Look at the fact in money and in lives. Hard to understand?
The new leaders with Bid Laden just to today added who to their list of traitors. The Iraq Army and military.
So answer me a question.
Can we fight two separate wars. And still know were gonna win both?
When we talk of withdrawing troops from one front. Yet the country is so unstable, the General over the command says we are no better off than we were when we first arrived there?
Encouraging words from a battle hard General.
Or words that hey. Maybe you need to re-think this. Before it becomes another Korea or Vietnam and separates everyone.
A house divided according to the Bible can't stand. What about a country divided? Any one remember Korea, Nam? Sound familiar.
Winning hearts and minds as the Afghans and Iraqi's watch their people die daily?
How are we winning hearts and minds?
Someone please explain that. Yet the Iraqi's want us there. Cause we fight or lead most major campaigns, and what does our opposition do. Come right back and target who. Those who are helping the Devil Dog's The U.S.
So were winning both these wars and and both fronts.
We have already suspose to been our of Afghan. and i don't see a way out of Iraq. To be honest either country and us save face.
Unless we go in with massive force and create the government we have already tried to setup, but seems to be faltering.
Now think about it. And anyone respond or answer my questions. I got friends real army and marines. Front lines. They have no clue. And their where the [censored] is. So inform me. So i can email them when they can think they may be coming home.

to me this thread has gone as far as it can go without everyone repeating their view's already given and just flaming the board me.
I think it is time to lock it down and move on. We all have our opinions and will not be changed by arguing on a message board.

My drawers aren't in a wad, old friend. Just making my own observations and conclusions about the whole matter.
There's no need for debate if others aren't willing to consider points made by other folks. I'm as upset with the handling of things in Iraq as the next Joe, and I dare say I have more reason to be concerned with the price of gasoline than anyone on this entire board.
