Water?

To begin with, the Lions Club pays the town rent for the use of the field during peanut football season. As fas as the little league goes, the fees paid to the little league are for insurance and chartering purposes only. The little league fields were built by the town for little league and the town does not charge the league for their use. The light bill on the little league fields is paid by the league. You need to get your "ducks" in order before you say stuff in which you know absolutely nothing about. I KNOW what I am talking about on this. So, what are your town taxes going for? To pay the salaries of the people who let the water situation go as far as it did. As far as the police protection goes...we don't need any "Barney Fife" wanna bees in the county. We don't need side walks, we don't need street lights, which by the way, even the county residents help "foot" the bill for during Christmas. We have our own fire department, and by the way, our own first responder units.

Now, back to the little league. Boundaries for the little league are set by Williamsport, not the county or towns. The little league has 15 districts in the state of Virginia. District 13, which is the district that BSG is in, is Headquartered in Clintwood, not BSG!! By the way, the league names for the leagues making up district 13 are: Appalachia Little League, Big Stone Gap Little League, Clintwood Little League, Coeburn Little League, Pound Little League, Wise Little League, Norton Little League, Lee East Little League, Lee West Little League, and McClure River Little League. None of these Leagues are charged one dime by their respective towns for the use of fields/facilities.

You should, I'm just telling you that you all get off easy compared to people who live in town limits in terms of taxes. You know that as well as I do, it's part of life but those who live outside of town have an advantage. And please dont accuse me of being on drugs, you have no proof of that, and I can say things about you I have plenty of proof on. I dont do drugs, period. There is no since in briging in personal things into this, but if you wish to go ahead because you'll lose that one.

Who gets the tax that towns levy on burgers and things like that? I know at one time Norton had one, don't know about BSG, but I always wondered about that 2.5 cents or whatever. I started going out of the corporation limits when it first started, I worked 2nd shift and grabbed a meal pretty often, one day it cost too much. I asked and was told it was the new town tax. Maybe Wise has one too?

They are already hauling that much from what is floating around. They are filling the tankers somewhere, I don't understand if they intend to still haul as much as they can and use the line that is being laid. I guess it is about time for a look at some new rules about when to tell folks to conserve water. Still, this the driest it's been in years and it is the year that is picked to drop the water level and build a new dam? That sounds like my luck. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] Weather Underground has Hurricane Wilma possibly off the NC coast by Sunday Wilma track and that would bring it across FLA, maybe stay out of the Gulf.
