so if a girl is raped she can't have an abortion? that law just seems "too limited" so to speak.
If i leave here tomorrow, would you still remember me.

It is so difficult to make a blanket policy like that. Like smary said, what about rape? What about incest? Both of those are "dangers" psychologically. By treating all people equally, you treat each of them unjustly. If a state is going to make a law in relation to abortion, it needs to be more inclusive than SD's law is at its current point in time. There are more situations and extenuating circumstances than the one statute.
I make Machiavelli look like a weenie.
Its a really bad idea because those that dont have a choice will resort back to the days of coat hanger abortions, not only killing the baby but killing themselves or at least cause some serious damage to their insides.
i dont think south dakota matters much for anything though...i think the Cheney's and the Miller's are the only inhabitants of that state
"An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity."
-Martin Luther King Jr.
"The bill would make it a crime for doctors to perform an abortion unless the procedure was necessary to save the woman's life. It would make no exception for cases of rape or incest."
If she's raped and impregnated by her dad or brother and the baby has a serious genetic defect she cant even get one.
If she's raped and gets pregnant at the ripe age of 9 or 10 she cant get one and has to carry the baby.
In general I dont agree with abortion but there's gray areas, such as those listed above, even I'm not sure on. Those scenarios have happened. I dont know that I disagree with abortions in those situations.
You'll shoot your eye out.

Don't think anyone has brought this up yet- South Dakota banned abortion because they know it will be challenged. They want the issue to go to the Supreme Court so that an abortion case will be heard. Someone will definitely challenge the law and it will begin the court process. Of course it might not make it to the Supreme Court, but the legislators in SD are hoping it will happen and that Roe V Wade will be overturned.
