we're thinking of going to Myrtle Beach for our one year anniversary in June and would like to have some feedback on:

hotels... good and bad. (esp. if you've stayed at the Patricia Grand which is the hotel I'm leaning toward)

where to eat?

stuff to do? (keeping in mind I'll be almost 5 1/2 months pregnant at the time so bars/amusement parks/etc aren't going to work)

i got down to myrtle beach normally once a year to play golf

for about the same price as the patricia grand you can stay at the anderson ocean club or bay watch.....both of which are much nicer IMO

captain johns is IMO the best seafood place in myrtle beach
i also like bennetts and the causeway grill for seafood
the dead dog saloon has great burgers
fire island B&G is a solid all around dinner spot
greg normans australian grill
breakfast.....hotstacks is our spot before we go golfing

comedy cabana is a great little comedy club down there

outside of golfing.....drinking.....fishing....the beach and pool there aint a whole lot to do

they do have various ocean cruises.....the braves have a minor league team down there and of course they have the obligatory mini golf as you find all over at every beach town

The Patricia Grand is pretty nice. I like the Yatchsman its really nice has a great pool area and a pier that serves decent food. we stay in the glass towers where you can see the beach and the street.

Go to [richard]'s Last resort at Barefoot Landing for food. It's funny.

And Go to the original Benjamin's Calabash Seafood but it's expensive

Some decent gift certificates for a good price. I do use Original Benjamins for that. Creek Ratz is pretty good for a small laid back joint in Murrells Inlet. Generally your best seafood seems to be found in Murrells Inlet. We spent a few days at Myrtle Beach a couple of months ago at Dunes Village. Its newer and really nice. Its on the upper end of Myrtle.

If you like to shop there is an outlet back over towards Conway. Broadway at the Beach is also fun but a lot of walking .Hard Rock Cafe, Planet Hollywood and Margaritaville are located there. They have a really good fireworks show there can't remember the night. We have gone to the Giant Crab to eat the past couple times and it is fun to watch the wife and daughter disappear behind the crab legs .

The Alaskan King Crab at Drunken Jacks is off the chain, however, it is expensive. Drunken Jacks is located about a mile on the left once you turn toward Murrells Inlet.

I never stay at hotels anymore once I found out for the same price or less you can just stay at your own house/condo with some privacy. We stayed in Garden City last time we went and it was easy and convienent to just about everything except Broadway since it was in North Myrtle. We stayed in our own 3 BR 2 Bath Condo with a pool and it was 2nd row with an ocean view for $1,600 per week and when you split it 3 ways it definately beats a hotel room. And of course that was for a family. You can find a 1BR or 2BR depending on how many are going for not too bad of a price. We went thru Dunes Realty most everytime we go and haven't been dissapointed yet. Their website is http://www.dunes.com

I love Broadway at the Beach since you can walk to all the little shops. I love Bennetts Calabash, the buffet selection is awesome. Dinner is usually the only meal we eat out so we'll def. be eating there and Domino's delivery is also on my list.

We'll probably end up at the Patricia Grand it's a good location so we won't have to drive so much. My family and I always stay at the Sandy Beach Resort but Zack and I want to try some place different this year.
