There are clubs for after..or just go wild at the hotel. As for the next day...unless you like the zoo, shopping, or the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area the best thing to do is drive home..haha

Nothing to do with Knoxville, but I got tix for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers in Cleveland (Cuyahoga Falls) in late July. Got 4 under the roof for less than $350 total. Was comparing ticket prices to other venues on the tour and noticed that across the board tickets for that venue were cheaper than most any of the other cities...so if anyone is going to catch a band this summer, it might pay to see if they are playing the Detroit/Cleveland area. IMO it's prolly because of the recession that things are cheap up that way...and it's only about a 6 hour drive from Wytheville. Plus, in Cleveland you have the Rock and Roll HOF, pass right by the Pro Football HOF on the way, can catch an Indians game fairly cheap if they are in town, and they have a huge water park up there. They have more musuems than a person can count..and the malls there are nice too. My 2 daughters wanted to go to a concert this summer and so I decided it would prolly make a good vacation. Really it's an economical choice as well cuz for less than $750 total I got the tix, 4 days and 3 nights in the Hampton Inn Downtown, and a 2 day pass for the R&R HOF for all of us. Anyways...not trying to hi-jack the thread so...back to Knoxville: there just isn't much to do in that town. It's like an oversized Kingsport with a zoo.

i went to cleveland years ago to visit my mom did not really get a chance to see anything drove by lots of places but never really stopped, went downtown to the water front and saw the different stadiums arenas saw teh rock and roll museuam as we drove by but from what i saw it was nicce

Went to the George Strait concert there a while back, just drove home afterwards heck it's only two hours. Would love to be able to go to this one but oh well maybe next time.

I went up there to see Pearl Jam in 2006 and went to the Rock and Roll HOF...it's awesome (for lack of a better description). Some of the stuff in there blows your mind cuz it's things you have seen all your life in magazines and on record covers, in videos, etc. The thing that made more of an impression on me was the scuplture that is on the cover of Pink Floyd's "Division Bell" and the recliner, TV, and lamp that was used in the film version of "The Wall"...it's just strange when it dawns on you that these were items used to make things that have enriched your life to a large degree. It's just the realization aspect of it all I guess. Plus, they have lots of interactive exhibits...and prolly the best and most affordable record store incorporated in their souvenir shop...especially if ya like vinyl. My kids are a lot like me when it comes to music and they've wanted to go since I first went. So I figured I'd incorporate all of it in one big trip and call it vacation..lol.
