Missed it again, competition was Saturday, but heard Sullivan South won with Lee High placing 2nd. Lee, of course, took 1st in parade.

The shocker was that Kelly placed third just 1/2 point out of second. That would have been a major upset. Burton was fourth.

Lee, Kelly, PV, Appy, Grundy, and Pound, along with some KY bands, were also up at Letcher County Central a couple of weeks ago in a new competition up there. Lee won that competition and the parade, Pineville was 2nd overall.

Believe I seen where Richlands won the Lonesome Pine comp. last week, with PH 2nd.

so how exactly do they do the scoring?

Scoring is based on sound quality, marching(and by that I mean)with the beat, being out of step, showmanship, etc. Basically, it is a very suggestive type of scoring with judges in each of the categories(music, marching, majorettes, drum corps, and honor guard)

Judging also includes difficulty of music, difficulty of drill and execution of drill.
