how can they tell?... I think they're meaning new lines, bc there is no way they can tell how many different phones you have hooked up in your own home.
Apparently, Verizon is now charging people for having extra phones.
Verizon told us that we would have to pay $7 dollars a month per phone to keep other phone's hooked up. Not extra phone lines, just more phones on the same line.
What kind of BS is that?

i thought the same exact thing.
my dad and i argued for hours over it, i thought there was no way it was possible to charge any more for different extentions on the same phone. he swore there was, and verizons website sucks ass i cant even verify i have service. they have me set as a TN resident and not in service area and the block to click change wont work.
if im wrong, which is a great possibility my dads not great with phone companies, who knows what we are payin for.

yeah, you may want to discuss that with Verizon yourself.
My grandfather, a few years back was having problems with them. He said he'd call and they wouldn't listen, and he'd cuss them out, and hang up...
Well, I listened to one of his phone calls.... he was calling and cussing out the automated answer service they had... it was the most hilarious thing, I've ever seen.
that sounds almost like my dad haha. he isnt that bad, he can tell between automated and a real customer service person, but we have had all sorts of trouble with them. Our phones will go out every time it rains and or the weather gets bad and wont turn back on til we fix it, the lines are horribly staticy at times, etc..
Verizon sucks.

Noise and static on the line is what I have been going through for the past 2 weeks. It only let up for one day and then it was back to the noise and static. My internet has been ok today but for the past 2 weeks has been going off every 5 minutes then I have to power cycle the modem and then it works only to go back down in 5 minutes. Verizon's customer service sucks too, you can't get any help at all and it takes an act of congress to get someone out here to fix it.
Switch to Comcast for internet and phone. Have had it for over a year and never any problems.

Thats what aggravates me the most. I understand things happen and lines screw up and phones go down, but its so **** difficult to get them to do ANYTHING for ya. Their customer service is horrendous on the phone, nothing ever gets fixed, and if you can talk them into actually sending a maintenance worker out its six weeks before anyone shows up.

My papaw had the same problem, line went out every time it rained. He dealt with them for awhile, then contacted Bouchers office to just put in a call, they called him back in a few hours and said they'd have someone out there to fix it in a day - after they said it'd be a least 4 weeks. But don't know if the office would still do that now since they're trying to get all the projects continued with Griffith, I'd try it now though, after he takes office it probably wouldn't work.
You know I voted for Boucher mainly because I wasn't sure if Griffith had the counties of far SWVA in his best interest or not. With that being said, it's time to move on. The discussion was about Verizon and not Boucher/Griffith.
