iPad

Anybody on here have an iPad? I'm really interested in one and wondered what the opinion of them are. I think I want one but I'm afraid I wouldn't like it and it'd just be a waste of money.

I have an iPad. Its a really cool tablet, and I like it. But I'm not sure I would buy if I had the choice again. Unless you buy a data plan from ATT, then you're limited to using if where you have wifi. I honestly don't use my iPad as much as I use my iPod and phone.

I bought one partly because I wanted one and the lil woman liked the look of it and her pc was over the hill and had a hard time with her facebook and email. So far I like it got a lot of dual apps on the iphone and ipad ike star walk and solar walk they look great on it. Got a couple of kid's books for my child and tried out the comic books apps which is neat.
I got mine at att store so it has the 3G as walmart was sold out, has the old software not sure if I wanna upgrade, printing will anything from it will be a pain unless I do the software upgrade but, was looking at getting a new HP print anywhere printer.

Then we are of the same clan. I'm a HUGE (physically and metaphorically speaking) nerd myself.

I'd be fine with only wi-fi as that would enable me to use it at my house, my mom's house, and my sister's house. I'd probably get one with 3G for possible future use after I go back to work and can afford a data plan for it. One of my big questions is can you play all of the facebook games on it? Or does it have to have apps for those? And if it has to have apps are they free? I want to be able to do everything with it that I could do with a winblows pc. Is there anything that it can't do? I really want as much info on these things as I can get.

I understand the Facebook gaming will be limited because they generally require flash, and it's not supported by iPad.

I'm interested in getting some kind of tablet, but I generally try to avoid being an extremely early adopter of any technology. Usually, if you wait a generation or two, the price drops and bugs get worked out. In my experience, it's most often well worth the wait.

That definitely applies in the windows world but this is Apple technology we're talking about. And what's being adopted early? The tablet pc? Tablets have been around a while.
