FSU went after every High School they could find using the name Seminoles and the same Logo. I think all the High Schools can still use the name Seminoles but if the Logos match FSUs they must be changed. At first they wanted to make the schools change names also. Made FSU out to look like some sort of Bully. If not for the strong support of the Seminole Native Americans then FSU should be made to change their name as well. I am one to have always sided with the Native Americans about the use of their names as mascots of sports teams. The worst out there is the Washington Redskins. Guess that is why I hate Washington so much. Racism is only Racism if it is against certain colors I guess. Wonder how long the name would have lasted if called the Washington Blackskins and the Logo was a pic of a black guy. What pisses me off the most is where the team is located. Our Nations Capitol. That looks really good that our Nations Capitol has a team with such a racist name and Logo. Anyway enough about that. Dont mean to derail from the original topic but that just gets me everytime.
Union High School Marching Band now has a facebook page. It's easy to find. It's pretty badass by the way. Speaking of fight songs, I think it said on that page that the fight song would be original (like the "Union Bear Stomp"). The uniform picked out looks pretty sweet. White pants, navy blue coat with orange and silver sash. A white trojan like helmet with orange feather plume going across.

The 4 board members have gotten a continuance on their suit, so that and the one with the tie-breaker are still on for now. Everyone should know that Monday's meeting is very important, they are supposed to vote to approve buying the uniforms by next week for 120k because of some discounts they have right now...but if the 4 geniuses fail to show, we would likely lose those deals and the price for those uniforms will be between 300-500k. So you can thank them for personally costing this county hundreds of thousands more than they already have if they pull another no-show stunt.
Just throwing this out there.....schools do not need SB approval to reorder uniforms.....not sure why that would be an issue now......if I am Perry I tell the schools to go for it and if the SB has a problem with it they can meet and vote to stop it LOL
I don't know if it's really "re-ordering" since everything is completely different, but it does have to have board approval or they would have already ordered them - it was supposed to have been done at the last meeting.
