Ok guys need some advise. Witnessed a car accident in downtown Norton Tues. I am trained in first aid and i can't just leave.
My question. Both parties exchanged information. During the exchange the guilty party as i seen it, since the light was red and they preceeded ask me what i would say, i said all i can say is what i seen.
I guess the biggest question. This should be settled out of court. And by law with my training i have to stop. However, with new laws, had i not stopped would i of been hauled into court?
Many cars went on and i know a few had to be nurses. But as the idiot i can be at times i stopped. So my question based on the new laws would i still be accountable if i had not stopped or could i of been hauled into court?
I'd like a few responses cause i got a feeling this may end up going to court, based on the ladies i didnt' do it. And me actually seeing the accident.
As far as I know, unless it has changed, if you stop, you have to stay and help until someone of a higher qualification releases you.
I can't remember if there is a law to make you stop, because just because someone is a doctor they have to be at appointments just like the rest of us do now and then.

I saw Elkins(the lawyer from adkins/elkins/hunnicutt) get run over by a car around xmas time a few years ago. It was the craziest thing I had ever seen. He just walked out into oncoming traffic and a little green cavileer hit him going about 35 miles per hour. He bounced up the hood, shattered the girls windshield, and rolled down the hood into the road. His face was all bloody and ended up requring a lot of plastic surgery from what I heard later. After he got up out of the road, he started yelling at the girl, and then tried to get in his truck and drive himself to the hospital. For a lawyer, he wasnt very smart it seemed. I just got the heck outta there, He was ok, but with him being a lawyer, I knew "lawsuit" was written all over that one.
my stepbro is a lawyer here so I'll ask him today and see what he thinks and I'll try and get back at ya...But try to get some other opinions as you said...
Elkins was actually one of my brothers best friends, I don't know if he had much surgery, he's still just as ugly as ever *lol* I say that cause I see him regularly at work.

Thanks man. So far i've not heard anything. The woman was more concerned about having to be at the hopsital for outpatient surgery.
Then she looked at the young man's car and that was when she said, she had the light, i hated to disagree but i had to the light was already red.
It really did minor damage to her car but knocked in the rear back panel of the other guys car, both were still driveable.
I was just glad no one was hurt. And i know the good samaraitian law protects you from liability if you help, but not on actually seeing an accident. Guess basically what im saying is asking i don't want to end up in a court case, hopefully the two contacted each other and took care of it.
