i think one of the things that most people don't realize is you literally have to eat 3 meals a day to lose weight. Since I was in highschool it has always been hard for me to get up and eat breakfast, but in order to get your metabolism going you really have to.

do you know what aspartame can do to you??? It breaks down in the body to a substance similar to formaldihide (msp?) I can cause the body to react in ways similar to having multiple sclerosis!!! That stuff is poison!!!

Unchained I didn't realize you and my old man were the same height....

We are going to use Splenda as much as possible to eliminate aspartame.

Re: Times They Are A Changin'

Be careful, I went on the Atkins diet for about 2 months and lost 25 lbs. Problem is, when I went off of the Atkins diet (and u have to eventually), my body had a bad reaction. I ended up going to the hospital twice over it. My whole system got out of whack. Sure u can lose the weight, but when u go back to eating carbs your body (or at least mine) will go into a sort of shock. After I talked to other people about the diet, I found out that they had similar problems. One guy told me that he had been to the ER over it, and a nurse told me that the Atkins diet causes your body to produce excessive amounts of insulin, and can even make u a diabetic. I would NEVER recommend the diet...I felt bad for 2 months after I went off of it

Re: Times They Are A Changin'

Research has also evaluated the Atkins' diet
and their assessment is quite alarming. They say that the high-protein, high-
fat, low-carbohydrate Atkins diet tends to promote the loss of water weight,
and that if such an imbalanced diet is maintained, the body soon reverts to the
fasting state of ketosis, in which the body begins to break down muscle tissue
instead of fat over the term.

Ketosis is one of the body's last-ditch emergency responses; deliberately
inducing ketosis can lead to muscle breakdown, nausea, dehydration, headaches,
light-headedness, irritability, bad breath, and kidney problems. In pregnancy,
ketosis may cause fetal abnormality or death. It can also be fatal in
individuals with diabetes! While supporters of the Atkins diet concentrate so
much on the fat burning capability of ketosis they neglect to mention that over
the long term protein, and thus muscle, is also burned!

I said the diet causes your body to produce too much insulin, I think I got it backwards. Sorry about that

Re: Times They Are A Changin'

I don't think it's very healthy either. Maybe for a quick fix (like a week on it, to fit into a fabulous dress for a special occasion), but definitely not "long term". Plus, all the people I've seen go on it, gain the weight back immediately after they start eating carbs again.

Not to mention ketosis makes you stinky(for most people anyway). My friend's ex-bf would start smelling after only about 4 or 5 days on it.

But whatever floats yer boat. Be careful!
Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play. It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfulness, disregard of all rules and sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence. In other words, it is war minus the shooting.
